However, there are several Mac regulars on these boards who can probably help you if you will provide a little more info regarding problem specifics.

Preferably in a different thread...

My screensaver comes up blank

My screensaver comes up blank also with the Boinc logo and a message "Boinc is not running. Please Launch Boinc to display graphics"
Problem is I notice that the manager displays changing % work completed so Boinc is launched.
I am running Windoze 2000 on 500mhz

Is your graphics card driver up to date? Check this thread.

I can bring up the graphic

I can bring up the graphic when I hit the appropriate button in Boinc Mgr., so I doubt if updating is the problem. I also get the Boinc programme not responding when I move the mouse thus turning the screensaver off. I suspect that the prog is too big for my processor as 500mhz is the minimum requirement. Could this be the case? I keep having to go into task mgr to end task and get the screen up an running again.

Looking at your computer, you

Looking at your computer, you also only have 128MB of RAM. I suspect that between the low RAM and the slower speed, and probably trying to do the graphics on the CPU (ie; not a brand-new graphics card), the screensaver is just too much for your box to handle. Try letting it run without any graphics for a bit, see if it finishes the results okay. Once you have everything going, you can try the screensaver again.

Michael, EVERY software

Michael,

EVERY software has some kind of minimum requirements, try reading the boxes of games on the retailers shelf if you don't realize this. And, CAN THE RANT!!!

THAT IS THE AVERAGE USER CANNOT USE BOINC, ITS JUST NOT POSSIBLE.
