Michael,
I have them zipped and ready to go. Awaiting an email addy to send them to.

Ricky

Ricky,

First, make sure that the files were copied to the zipfile, i.e., that the 4 are also still in your Boinc folder. If not, it may interfere with future boinc operation. If they're absent from the boinc folder, just double-click the zipfile and direct it to unzip to the boinc folder.

Once you've made sure they're in there, send the zipfile (which will still contain the files intact) as an attachment to Paul Buck, email - .

Paul will go analyze them when he has time, and add the information to the BoincWiki, which will benefit us all.

Thank you for your contribution and cooperation, Ricky.

Michael

Michael,
I did a complete copy of my BOINC folder to my desktop and then took the files from that copy and once I finished I deleted the copy. I still have the BOINC folder intact where it was.

BTW I only have 1 E@H file left on this Laptop before i'm ready to upgrade to 5.2.2

Good job, Ricky

BTW, not absolutely necessary to run the queue dry before upgrading Boinc - that's only necessary when doing an Einstein upgrade.

You should be able to upgrade Boinc version at any time by using the Control Panel applet to uninstall Boinc, and then going ahead with the 5.2.2 installation. The reason we were holding off on the upgrade was to get the std logfiles uncorrupted, they may be altered by the upgrade.

Do I have to remove BOINC before I upgrade? I didn't have to do that before and had no problems (as far as I know.

I don't think that the uninstall of the existing version of Boinc is absolutely necessary, but that is the procedure that has been recommended to me, and I do mine that way. Perhaps uninstalling rids the system registry of superfluous entries left behind. It certainly doesn't hurt.

I have not seen the e-mail yet ... :(

If I don't send a confirmation in a day or so, send them again please.

There was a version where the install would not go right without the uninstall first. I grant that is is not completely needed, but, for those of us that are not into high risk behavior, well, it is a cheap enough step to do just to be safe.
