That is some amazing video. Max descent ~2500 mph - becomes noticeable when passing throught the thin cloud layer. And then stop, hover, land. retract hydraulic (?) upper brakes. similar engineering, different engine(s) than SpaceX. Very cool stuff going on.
Well, it was frustrating to me to NOT hear English being spoken for the launch of Arianespace VA230...
I guess you are talking about the recorded stream, which has the English and French audio superimposed, on both the English and French streams. I expect they'll fix that.
I had a quick listen on youtube starting at 10 minutes they appear to have lost the language overlay. Launch starts here
so maybe there is a lot of the rocket under the tarp!
The Veteran's space mob have footage of what's under the tarp that blew off. I can't see much above the engine assembly ( octaweb ) and some leggy pieces. There might be some barrel there. If so they have recovered some pretty expensive niobium-titanium alloy !

Thank you for the YouTube link. The "Relive this launch" at the original link had a French woman drowning out the English speaking gentleman. Made things REALLY hard to follow. FINALLY got to see and understand the entire launch through the YouTube link. :-)
FWIW here is a good shot of one of the four water thrusters that act to steady the barge in a precise position :
Evidently that can rotate down to be underwater and also swivel 360 around it's long axis too. I mean there's no point in the booster descending to an absolute position if the barge isn't there to be underneath it at the time ! :-)
NB We saw with the land return that the booster hit the centre of the marked plot bang on. So bear in mind at sea that any off centre landing can be due to barge positioning ( good to within one meter ). The barge and booster don't communicate for this, each obeys a preset.

On land failures i expect would be considerably more expensive in event of a RUD.
