I gather you are fine with

I gather you are fine with only a couple of X16 slots because you host the majority of your gpus on the 1X slots via extenders.

The VRM solution for this board seems reasonable though the review only tested with a 3900X and not a 5950X.

Assuming I was going to use the proposed MB for gpu crunching it appears that the x16 to x1 ribbon cables (with added on power connectors) should work "fine" in a mining frame.  If I want to run a pair of gpus directly on the MB it should be "fine" too.

Maybe I can find that list of 3 long slot B550 motherboards?  But other than that it looks like I would spend almost $400 for the "Workstation" model in the Asus line.

I can't see doing that if I am also going to be buying a CPU liquid cooler.

So I am guessing something like this is what I should shoot for, for the home of a 5950x cpu to do heavy crunching.

If you can afford to keep

If you can afford to keep buying new motherboards which all cost more than $100, you should be able to budget $80 for a AIO cpu cooler.

Search for the EVGA CLC-280

Search for the EVGA CLC-280 on Amazon.  The good $73 price is gone, but there are plenty around $85-89 and here is one for $80.

One of the issues with my noctuea air CPU cooler has been clearance in my main mining frame.

It looks like this new model addresses that issue.

Looks a similar size to mine (whatever the other make is): 6 inches cubed.  It presses against the side when I put it on, but only just.  I had to adjust the fans slightly.  But then again, I don't actually put the side on :-)

If this page takes an hour to load, reduce posts per page to 20 in your settings, then the tinpot 486 Einstein uses can handle it.
