You shouldn’t be considering a ROMED8-2T anyway unless you plan to switch to Rome or Milan chips. Any ROMED8 board you buy now will likely have the newest BIOS which does not support the Naples chips. The new BIOS is 7002/7003 only.
Really I think you shouldn’t look at the dual EPYC board. It’s kind of a headache. The CPU VRMs are very weak and unless you put it in a server chassis with 9000rpm fans, or custom watercool the system you’ll be running into issues.
also the dual socket boards are E-ATX and won’t fit on your mining rack(s). It probably won’t perform well in a normal chassis without a ton of airflow.
stick to the single socket boards that are standard ATX sized for your own sanity. EPYCD8 or H11SSL

Life is complicated. Someone offered a new 5950x for $450 so I ordered it. Since it not only is eBay but I paid via PayPal we will see if this is BS or not.
I also am in the running for another 3950x (used) that if no one pushes it, could come in at $240 ;)
So it is clear to me that I had better sit on my hands on the EPYC project till I know which way the money is going.

Oh my god I'd want the CPU included for that price. I've never paid over $100 for a MB. And your 7401P is rated a bit slower than my Ryzen 9 3900XT, which is currently running on a $100 MB.
If this page takes an hour to load, reduce posts per page to 20 in your settings, then the tinpot 486 Einstein uses can handle it.

I'm a little confused. I am talking about a Ryzen 9 5950x CPU (16c/32t).
I have seen a couple of listings with both a EPYC CPU and mb. The cheapest looks like a average deal but is likely out of my immediate price range.
To do robust boinc CPU crunching it pretty much needs to manage 3MHz.
I bought what I could afford. If had to do it over again I would have stopped at the 8c/16t EPYC CPU I started with. It was more than sufficient to push the video cards.

I can't find the EPYCD8 anywhere new in stock. Only the EPYCD8-2T board is available. $100 more expensive for just the 10G LAN ports.

So I really am pretty knee jerky about "new" untouched, "virgin" motherboards.... unless I get my hands on one that already has the cpu installed :)
