You’d have to elaborate on

You’d have to elaborate on what exactly “get set up” means to you. But this is also getting by off topic.

It means installing/upgrading

It means installing/upgrading software, things like that.  I like to be able to install Radeon updates from this computer in the house to the 6 computers in the garage instantly.

Oh no, the off topic brigade will come in and spank us.

Are you really going to spend

Are you really going to spend a $1000 for a 10GB internal network system comprising the 10GB router and switch with SFP ports and the required cabling just to occasionally upgrade some remote computers which also would need to have 10GB network cards at $100 a pop?

Not sure where you get your ridiculous prices from, but:

10Gbit switch 8 port: $266: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/8-port-tp-link-tl-sx3008f-jetstream-l2plus-managed-switch-8x-10gbe-sfpplus-rack-mountable-fanless-16

40Gbit cable, 10m: $17: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114879350899

10Gb network card, included on his motherboard.

Not a lot to pay considering what we spend on GPUs and electricity.

You need somebody on the

You need somebody on the other end to talk to at 10Gbps.  None of his other hosts have 10G LAN ports necessitating a add-in 10G LAN card. He doesn't have the available slots to support another card as all the slots are occupied by gpus.

More trouble than what it's worth in my opinion for 99% use cases.

Always best to have something ready for the future.

My wife took me on one of her photo shoot classes, they learn how to take and manipulate them to sell, and a lady from Hong Kong was there, she was SHOCKED we were still on 10 or 100mbps wifi because she said there is free wifi in all of Hong Kong at 1000mbps!! That was 10 years ago so who knows how far ahead of the US and UK they are now.

We are 2nd world.  We have enough food to eat, but our tech is so far behind.

That is the case I am trying

That is the case I am trying show.  The US is far, far behind even the UK as far as Internet speeds for most residents.

So no point really about trying to move large amounts of data very fast here.  It can't be done with our current infrastructure.  Maybe next century it will be possible.

It's like wifi or rather the lack of wifi along the interstates and hiways, why doesn't someone do something akin to the FB model and provide free wifi for every single mile of them? Sure they won't collect everything from everyone but they could collect basic stuff that most people could care less about anyway and sell it, or use it inhouse, to subsidize the towers. Good grief Musk could do it with his mini satellites if he wanted too, the people in Ukraine used his satellites without the 'required hardware' if you pay.
