If the work from E@H is used by several Universities and other places doing research they need an applicatin that all others will except.
That's an excellent point, Ray. We can't just call an app good because our results validate okay, we must also make sure that our results are acceptable to anyone else who is using our data. I think this is what Akos was trying to say yesterday, but I was too busy having drinks in the Cafe to pick up on it. LOL. It's all your fault!

Hope that you stopped at the cafe today to get some of the Alka-Seltser that KSMarks brought in for us.
I just hope that none came back run on systems with the same app. reporting wrong, two the same probably would go through even it wrong. Maby not, I never looked at the validator to find out.
Mike, your characterization is OK by me because I'm interested in finding gravity waves. But your stories of trial and tribulation is not entirely applicable here. The "comedy of errors" to which you refer wasn't so funny to those individuals whose goals in descending order are 1) highest credit/hour, 2) lowest personal cost/hour (high throughput), 3)oh, and btw, if we happen to find a gravity wave so much the better. My evidence for the latter point is taken from all the folks who complain and threaten to go elsewhere if they can't have their Akos optimizations. Having said this I'm entirely sympathetic; if there is a faster way to get business done then the project should pursue it. I too am somewhat frustrated with the 19 hours it takes me to process 2 WUs in HT mode, though I have no logical reason for feeling that way, unless it's because my RAC is one-half what it used to be! :)
BTW, I have not indulged myself with any of the S5 Akos optimizations though I followed its evolution closely.
Points taken! :-)
I hadn't done any S5 Akos's either, as I lack the time to do the fiddling.
It's terrific to see so much enthusiasm for E@H! :-)
So I guess we can all learn a bit about vectors - speed and direction! :-)
Cheers, Mike.

Why isn't it possible to create a SMALL beta Project for each optimisation?
Perhaps, a group of 50 Crunchers with different CPUs (which are matching with the patch) could check the Version ... 10 with the stock-application, the others with the patched one ...
After that, someone needs to check the results, in the best case, they would be absolutly exact.
You profit from theese better applications too!

sorry for my bad english
Sounds good to me;)
I previously did the same kind of thing with the optimized S@H enhanced apps to make sure they produce vaild results befor releasing them to public.

I believe there work is used by a lot fewer people, so it is easier to get the others to accept non standard applications.

Try the Pizza@Home project, good crunching.

Hi Zero :D
I did the banner to support the ones that did and still support me.
