Hi all Have to say that

Hi all

Have to say that I'm in the same boat as our dear Akos. Have also stopped crunching this project.

Not because off the non-existing optimized apps, but cause off the long wu's.

I basically have the idea that I would like to put all my rigs onto one project, and hope that it stays alive, but 3 off my pc's are simply to slow and old to cope with e@h.

Having a turn-around time on a p3 on 30 hours and 36 hours on a tbird are simply to much in my opinion. My p4 can barely keep up with these new wu's.

So I'm switching to a project with smaller wu's.

And in light off the recent mishaps on my "farm", then I would rather loose 2 hours crunching time than 35 hours.

See all you guys later

But i think my english will stay very poor. I'm not a language genius. :-)

Don't worry, that post was written in the best English I've read in a long time!

Might I suggest Malaria Control as an alternative. Pretty short WUs and a "good cause" to crunch for.

Caution: They are currently Beta and are only allowing a user base of 2000, so sign up quick if you're interested.

Seti Classic Final Total: 11446 WU.

From some of my results I

From some of my results I notice that some people are still crunching with optimized clients, some of which are are still giving invalid results.

Maybe we need something on the home page to let people know that they should stop this?

Akos, your English is good enough to communicate with us. Just remember us when you are rich and famous!!

A sticky thread that say STOP

A sticky thread that say STOP USING S5 OPTIMIZED APPLICATIONS would be smart.

No comments on this one, except can't you read m8 ??

My own guess is that 99,999999999% of the opt apps users, ARE reading this message board

Doubtful, since there are many still using it, and it gets shuffled into oblivion when all the replies are after the statements. In fact I just saw one person in a different thread wondering what is going on. So, it is better to be safe that sorry.

Yes there are a few sticky threads, but none of them tell you to stop, in the title. They talk about optimization, so people may not read it. If it says STOP, then more people will read.

I can see from your post count, that you prob are one off the persons that would rather say to mods/admins "gimme a modship", than to do something yourself. Beleive me, I have come across your kind before being a mod on several boards (not boinc related)

I would like to change my 99,999999999999% to a 100%, cause this is where the action is.

Like it or not, then this IS a competetion.

I do beleive that somehow, somewhat, we are all in for the "credits", personal or team wise.

The real meaning off DC got lost years ago, its all about money now

First off, the optimizations are giving BAD Data - READ THIS.

Second, I never want MOD, because I ran BBS's way before you may have been born, and I never want to do that, again! I got plenty tired of people who go off on tangents that mean nothing.

I am not using the optimized apps, and did not plan to until they were fully tested. I did use them on S4, as they were accepted by the developers, the S5 optimizations are not, and I am glad I didn't get into installing them.

Also, where do you get money in DC? These projects are way under funded, and some are asking for money.

I am so confused with your thoughts on this.
