Yup, quad with HT. I suspect they've taken the old 3GHZ HT Pentium single core from a few years ago and cloned into the die.

( edit ) and the memory/board FSB I've chosen is at 1.667 GHz. Note the i7's integrated memory controller is at 1066 MHz ( 3 channels of DDR3 ). Also beware Windows 7, RC2, will expire next March.

( edit ) We love thunderstorms ( may as well, we get plenty ). Very temporal art really, we count from the flash to the sound ( five 'cat-and-dog' to the mile ) and track the storm as it moves through.

Well, I went for my regular flying lesson today and unexpectedly had a different instructor. OK ........ went and checked out the plane, came back in to sign out and 'come this way Mike, take a seat, and do this test here'.
Sprung the pre-solo exam on me! No warning! Got 90% though ..... :-)
Now if only I'd managed to get three consecutive smooth landings in, I could have gone solo. Mainly nerves, partly conditions and a very busy circuit pattern today. I had to hold off several approaches and extend some circuit legs to maintain minimum separations ( ie. not collide ), and when you do make contact the grass strip was the boggiest I've ever encountered.
Ah well, next time ...... :-)

I'd asked my instructor some time ago if he would teach me to fly. And, by the way along the road I'll pick up the certifications .... :-)
You see there is a minimum syllabus requirement from the aviation bureaucracy, and many schools ( not mine ) drive the pace to suit that alone. This is bad. I know graduates from other schools that probably aren't safe, having been signed off as competent early & inadvisedly. That almost ensures they'll never learn it right, ever. Not simply because they can't do it but also because they'll think it's easier than it is. For my class of aircraft the sad truth is that about 9 out of 10 dead pilots have killed themselves.
So I've gone out of my way to fly on the less-than-ideal days and collect the skills to tackle those. Better to meet adverse conditions/situations first time with an instructor present than later on when one is ( allegedly ) qualified but alone. For instance we've had crappy crosswinds ( 15 gusting to 20 knots almost side on ) - where you have to use both arms and both legs simultaneously to score a good landing - and I did surprisingly well. Last week the conditions were too bad to fly, but I turned up anyway - specifically to discuss with the instructor why we didn't fly. Hence you begin to acquire judgment by example.
But yesterday, I think I just choked .... :-)
