It's 62F this morning here at the NC beach and with an 80% chance of rain today you can guess what it;s doing right now. Yup great big drops of rain that you can hear hitting the roof individually like someone playing the drums. The pond behind my house is over the top of the drain but it would have to get about 8 feet higher before it got up to my house and it would just drain out faster than it already is it that even got close to happening. The reason that would happen is that there is a long baffle board directing the water around itself, 99% of ponds in NC are 'retention' or 'settlement' ponds so the particulates etc drop out of the water stream so it doesn't go back to the ocean. Once it goes over the top of the baffle board it can go down the drain alot quicker as there's no long path to get the to the drain anymore. My pond drains to another pond which goes to another pond and then after several more ponds it goes into the ocean. My pond is the 2nd highest in my neighborhood so the water goes downhill on it's path.
A Facebook friend of mine mentioned up to 9" of Snow in Kansas next Monday/Tuesday.
Apparently Friday we might get an inch or three but some of the Weather forecasts think those will melt off.

WOO HOO!! Enough to shovel or sled in and enough to tell the boss you are working from home giving the Sun and other cars time to melt it all off the roads.
