George,

It was "nice" during the day yesterday.  Got to leave the house windows open all day.  Nice low in the 60'sF overnight.

Unfortunately the rest of the week it gets into the low 90'sF so I will be closing windows and probably shutting systems down.

Tom, et al,

It was very nice here as well.  Since I've gotten back together with Judy (again!), we've been...  well...  let's just say (quoting Gary Roberts) "life" got in the way of doing anything with my computers.  That should change soon.

When she was gone, I bought more fans and decided to place two Lasko Wind Machines blowing in from outside the bedroom window and two high velocity (and quiet) fans blowing out of the living room window.  This was different than what I had before, and it made a world of difference in my apartment.  The heat from my computers was being sucked out the living room window to the point where I had not used the A/C during the last low-to-mid 90'sF 'heat wave' and it was still comfortable for me.

Since she's been back, she hasn't complained at all.  I have a little Honeywell fan that she uses to blow directly on herself.  The temperature inside was about 2-5 degrees cooler than outside, and when I blow smoke (I know, I'm bad) into the middle of the living room, I can watch the smoke slowly drift to the window fans.  That means that there is noticeable airflow the way I have the fans configured.

Who needs A/C when it is

Who needs A/C when it is cool/cold outside and you have a window fan?

Not here...  It's 62F @ 10:30pm, going down to 52F tonight.

My A/C could have been used last week but now I've got it turned off and unplugged for the rest of the season.

Just a bit chilly...  but I like it!  Not so much for Judy, though.   ;*)

It's only going up to 86F here today and then the low 70's overnight. Today though I get my whole house generator so they will pull the meter this morning and then not plug it back in again until after they are done, that means probably lunch time or later before I get some a/c or fans today. Of course all my pc's will be off as well so they won't be contributing to the heat gain at least.

Well, you do have to take the bad with the good sometimes.  But in the long run, it will be good for you.

Our senior retirement apartment building has a generator that runs on natural gas.  Not because of the threat of hurricanes, but general power outages caused by... anything!

Yes I do!! It turns out today was electrical and physical delivery and hooking up the wiring to everything including the generator itself, next week will be the plumbers to run the piping to the generator, mine will be propane also as natural gas is not an option for me.

The weather today did hit 86F as predicted but the humidty stayed low so while in the Sun it was warm it wasn't stifiling and in the house it only went up a few degrees. We did work hard to keep the doors closed but since all of the work was either in the garage or the outside of the garage it wasn't that hard.

We did have a problem streaming the "Apple Event" today but we saw enough of it to know what we wanted to know.

This morning in the central USA we are getting thunder but no rain (yet). The forecast was no rain till Wednesday even now. It has clouded up. But the high today is supposed to be 85F.

It is Monday.

You do have funny weather there where you live, it's been in the high 50's to low 60's in the mornings here at the beach with the afternoon highs in the low 70's. The lows will drop to the upper 30's inland about 30 miles from me tonight and tomorrow night so mine should be in the mid to high 40's and then but the end of the week back up into the mid 50's with the highs in the low to mid 70's. Next week our highs should be into the low 70's again depending on Hurricane Tammy and what she decides to do by then. The current forecast is a to do a left hook back towards the US but it may do a right hook heading towards Europe instead depending on the upper level winds, it's too far out to know right now.
