I got an email from World Community Grid (yesterday?) announcing that they were now "live" and out of beta-testing.
They did say they had some "reporting" issues on the website that they were still working on.
So I shutdown my "network" toggling code that Ian&SteveC had provided.
Got up this morning to no WCG running.
Started up the "network toggle" command line again....
Sigh...

You can setup a cron job, or use Keith's command he posted elsewhere, to make it ask for new tasks more often than you manually clicking but they are still having download issues where they keep backing off meaning you won't get new tasks if one or more is stuck trying to be downloaded.

The KC Chiefs continue to chew through the opposition in their division. Presumably the defense can get better. And the team receivers...
KU Football ran 5 straight wins. Even won a really tough game against possibly the best team they had faced up to last Saturday. Then they lost a tight game Saturday.
So they are batting .500 against really good teams. Only one more win and they will have at least a .500 record for the year. It has been Year's since they won that many.
Who are you following again? Chicago?

Oh YEAH! I'm definitely following Chicago Bears football. Right now they're record is 2-3 but in 2 of the three losses they could have won if they hadn't made mistakes. But this is a rebuilding year. They replaced about 65% of last years team with young talent that they hope can win next year. I'm thinking positive.
I follow the pros, as well as a few college teams, like Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State and the rest of the Big 10 teams. I'm a fan of the Big 10, not so much others.
I lived for over 30 years in Northern Virginia so was a Washington Redskins/Commanders fan now though I live in North Carolina so guess I am a Carolina Panthers fan. I was a Washington Capitals Hockey fan too and it was fun when they won the Stanley Cup but since moving haven't followed much hockey at all.
My youngest son is going to Oklahoma University, the Sooners, getting his Masters Degree in Archeology so I try to watch their games on tv but living in NC they aren't always on so catch the ones I can. When he leaves I will probably stop watching them as it only gives us something to talk about when we talk.
My older son has a PHD from UNC, his wife has a Masters from UNC as well, but they don't follow anything UNC anymore so I don't either.

Am I reading between the lines correctly? That you seldom talk to your youngest son? That is so sad.
I've lived here in Illinois, primarily in DuPage County about 30 miles due west of Chicago, for ~50 yrs until I moved to Rockford a little over three years ago. It is hard to NOT like the Bears if your a football fan. Up here (in Rockford) there are quite a few of Green Bay fans, nearly 1/2 of all football fans, and they are our arch enemies - the NFL's longest rivalry - and in our division. (LOL! - I'm saying "our" like I have a partial ownership in the Bears - LOL!)
I'll probably die here in Rockford, but if I were to move anywhere - south or west, like Florida or Arizona - I would still be a Bears fan.

Oh no we text at least once a week and then see each other at holidays and reunions right now, he's paying for this himself so is going straight thru for 18 months so has very little time for other things. Basically he gets off when the school takes off. The good thing is he's in the writing his thesis phase and the classes he's a part of are all lumped together on a Wednesday

Yes, pretty close actually. I moved to IL in '68 (with my parents) to Lisle. When My parents moved to MA in '73 I stayed behind. My first apt. was in Wheaton. Over the years I lived all over DuPage, even had a Townhouse for 10 yrs in Glen Ellyn, right next door to Wheaton. Why do you ask?
And it's good that you and your youngest son talk often. I was worried.
