I drink whisky sparingly and like to try out as many new ones as I can and seeing as there's so many, I dont think I'll run out of options any time soon. One time I ran into Loch Lomond by accident. I am quite a Tintin fan and always though Hergé made that up. No idea why. But I quite liked it.
The Macallan will definitely also make the list. Bourbon's I haven't tried a lot. I think I tried Four Roses once, but that's so long ago, I cannot remember it. I think I should revisit that family of distillates.
And if I feel like candy alcohol, I usually go for the rum and coke. Kraken Black Spiced Rum. If only because it has this nice pirate-y bottle with 2 ears. And don't all good stories involve pirates? ;)

I just did a search on a website that ships liquor to your door in the US, https://www.liquortoship.com/ and a 750ml bottle is only about $18US before shipping. My neighbor uses them to get his Scotch and says it's actually cheaper if you buy several bottles because the local places add @$15 to each bottle you buy while that was the total shipping for the 3 bottles he got.
If I were to look up a 1.75 ml bottle of Jack Daniel's Old No. 7, which I did, and I do buy regularly, on the website https://www.liquortoship.com/ mentioned, it costs $44.97 plus shipping. I buy it at the local Woodman's grocery in Rockford, IL for ~$35 cash-n-carry. Of course there are taxes that apply to both.
I guess whether you save much having it delivered vs. driving to the store to buy may depend on the product and your local liquor store's profit margin.

If I go to the cheapest online liquor store (I first wrote off-license, but is that word even used in the US??) for the Netherlands, the price for 3 bottles would amount to approx 65 EUR inc shipping, so around 72 USD. At 24 USD per bottle its not that much more expensive as the US, which surprises me since we have crazy taxes: an excise of 0.17 Eur per vol % alcohol per litre and 21% VAT on top of that. I still think it is criminal that we also pay VAT over the excise, but apparently that makes total sense in tax land...
Anyway, let's not go there. I found that my local store sells Gentleman Jack and that's right next to the supermarket where I shop, so that one is first on my list!

At the Jameson distillery I got the green Scroll when sitting in the auditory and was invited to a tour to see and taste how a good (triple distilled) whisky is made.
You can taste at home:
Take a shot of Jameson, your favorite pick of an American variety and any Scotch one.
1) Use your nose. Move the best smelling shot a bit father away from you. Look for clarity and pureness.
2) Use your eyes. Like the color? Move them ahead: The better move the the more ahead.
3) Observe the first taste. Again move the best shot a bit farther away from you.
4) Analyze the after taste (good, not a perfume, not too candy, not too closed, ...). Just move the rest of the best more ahead.
5) Keep watching the table: Do not let your favorite pick drop from the far end of the table.
Fill the questionnaire form and wait a couple of weeks and the Jameson rare varieties will be at the nearest liquor store for you to buy.
