Local news reported that the resupply launch was looking good for Saturday, however there was an aside about using the craft for manned missions. Something about cracks in "other components". I would assume that the cracks are in recycled stages. The concern was expressed by NASA. No further details were available.

The cracks comment sounds like it is probably a reference to the matter discussed in this WSJ story published almost 2 weeks ago.
Not, I think, directed toward the relaunch problem.

I had not seen that article in the url you referenced, but it does seem to align with the comment made on the local news channel. What is not clear is if "cracks in other components" is a reference to the last failed launch which has been addressed or if there are new concerns.
In a potentially major change in direction for NASA’s human spaceflight architecture, the agency is officially studying the possibility of adding a crew of astronauts to the first flight of Orion deep space crew capsule and the heavy lift Space Launch System (SLS) rocket currently in development, announced Acting NASA Administrator Robert Lightfoot. “I have asked Bill Gerstenmaier to initiate a study to assess the feasibility of adding a crew to Exploration Mission-1, the first integrated flight of SLS and Orion,” Lightfoot said.

The Catch-22 for SpaceX here is that they ( largely ) bring components back to be analysed after use ! :-))
Cheers, Mike.
