it is well known Annie that wire cooling racks gang up together to protect themselves. You need to use the gang syndrome on them you see, sort out the bully and the others behave. So your midnight snacks consist of Mars bars and Marmite? Acommpanied by a hungry cat that likes to join in, hmmmm. The secret with Marmite is to have it on toast, else put the jar in a bowl of medium hot water for a couple of minutes to reduce the viscousness for soft bread.

The only draw back I have found is that the labels come off and you are not sure later whether it is Marmite or Bovil inside.  Yes people I have made a great scientific discovery that Marmite and Bovril jars are so similar as to be the same. Wonder if I will get a NoBellyButton prize Tongue Out

More likely a permanent marker to write on the lid what's in the jar! I'll bet a few seconds in the microwave, sans lid of course, would soften things up too. No worries about the label either.

I have never been bitten by a box either, but I am breaking down ALOT of them right now as the wife and I unpack after our recent move to the beach full time. The trash guys won't take them if they are full of packing paper, seems we paid for ALOT of that stuff, we about 300 or so moving boxes that had to be emptied of their contents, about 40 or so are left at this point. We used empty boxes to put the packing paper into and then had to empty all the paper into trash bags and then break down all the boxes too before the trash guys would take everything. It seems it's a combination trash and recycling truck all in one and they sort it at the dump.

Scott, can your TARDIS take

Scott, can your TARDIS take me back a few hours to when I tried to post a reply to Phil but my internet connection was down?

(My TARDIS has been on the fritz since the site switched to Drupal or whatever.)

[edit] Wait a minute, did I ever have a TARDIS here, or only at Seti? No, my avatar here was Alfred, wasn't it? I'm so confuuuuuused. Getting old sucks.

Yes, your Sylvester McCoy Avatar was only at SETI; but, nothing says that you can't change your Alfred Avatar here to Sylvester...  Wink  (Especially since now, you have no Avatar at all...  At least from what I'm seeing at this moment.)

I wonder where I got that

I wonder where I got that picture in the first place...

BTW, Dr. 8.5 died today.

[edit2]

Okay, as you can see, I found a new one. I like this one better than the other. I really do support my chin like that quite a bit (although I do it off-center, with my left hand).

We need a cute baby animal thread.  It would make me laugh (which is hard to do right now).

Ladies & Gentlemen,I am

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I am pleased to announce that the latest "TLPTP - A Vantage Point?" thread has a winner!

Drum Roll

Fanfare

It is none other than our own Kathryn :-))) She got the 169th post. why 169? Well a clue was in the title "vantage point". As we all know a bakers dozen is 13, and stems from the strict laws concerning baker's wares, due to the fact that it is fairly easy for bakers to cheat patrons and sell them less than what they think they are getting. Culminating in Britain in the mid-13th century with the establishment of the Assize of Bread and Ale statute. Bakers covered themselves by suppling a 13th extra known as a "vantage loaf".

Bakers dozen X Bakers dozen = 13x13=169

It would make me laugh (which is hard to do right now).

There ya go Kathryn that should put a smile on your face :-))

Down to Kathryn to start the new thread, and wearing her other hat, can she close this one please.

Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)

Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now
