finished crunching the first 2 WUs. Seeem to ba about twice as fast, excellent!!!! Problem is that one unit crunched fine, the other said client error. And under client state it says: "computing." Not sure what happened hoping that it is just a bad WU. Will keep you posted on the next 2 WUs.

Really weird, works perfeclty for me, with 0.02 on 10.3.9 and 10.4.1. One last thought - are you using an uncommon keymap? Or maybe a hotkey tool? Anyone else seen this or has an idea?

So far so good with Altivec version on my with three units completed using v.002. Average time per unit on iMac G5 1.6 ghz is 5.33 hours. Half what it used to be.
iBook 600 G3 is still struggling to get through its first unit but it is within 2 hours of completing. Without the benefit of Altivec, it takes about 30 hours per unit.
A glitch I mentioned before popped up again. Result ID shows as only taking 2.66 hours. This is a case where it crunched for a bit, surrendered to Predictor on queue, and then when it resumed it remembered the percentage completed, but forgot the cpu time already accumulated. As a result CPU time restarted with 0, just over half way through the unit. This of course resulted in what looks like a fast unit, but really took about as long as the others, but only got credit for half.
Something to look at before going mainstream. I actually saw the partially completed unit resume, with zero CPU time.

I have AZERTY keyboards, I tried the (usual for me) Belgian keymap and also the U.S. keymap (selected from the "flag" icon on the top right of the screen). I do not use any "hotkey tool" to my knowledge.
I have disconnected my USB Microsoft mouse, and turned OFF my Apple bluetooth keyboard.
Under these circumstances, the problem persists: pressing the ctrl key AND the trackpad "button" continuously leaves the trackpad in control of rotations of the celestrial sphere instead of the zoom. Without pressing the ctrl key, the result is the same. If I can do other things to help you, please let me know.
Another, even less important detail: after update (and change) of my "Credit", the graphics and screen saver still show the old "Credit" (at least temporarily).

This takes two server contacts from the client side to update. Depending on your preference settings this may need quite a bit patience, but should finally correct itself.

Its clunky, slow, and you are the first person who has done something to improve the way boinc runs on an Apple. I see no reason why the powers tyhat be continue to neglect Mac users. So if no improvements are done to Boinc, both for Seti and Einstein, then i will joyfully retire my Apple from crunching anymore numbers for anybody but myself. Ever since Seti switched to Boinc it has been one thing after another. Bored with it! Been a member of Seti for about 7 years now. Just recently joined Einstein. But let me tell you this, ran the old Seti version for years with no problems whatsoever. Been with Boinc less then 1 year, nothing but problems. Seems to be a major problem with me if I continue to use something that is crashing my Mac on a regular basis. And none of the Boinc people do anything to correct the crashes.
Just tell me everything I need to delete to get it running again! Or just get it off my Apple!
Sorry to complain, just bored with dealing Boinc and their inferior software. Maybe you guys should ask Apple to write some software for you......lol At least it would work and I know we could bet better support!

Does the setting of "remove from memory when suspended" make a difference to that?

Doesn't seem to. I've tried it both ways. I think there is a problem with the BOINC Manager. This morning it showed Einstein crunching and Predictor paused, but there was no time incrementing on the Einstein unit. I'm going to try re-installing today, or might revert back to the CLI because I'll be traveling the next two weeks. The Mac Version of the BOINC manager occasionally does some strange things on all projects. If I quit it, I actually have to restart my computer to restart it. (though work units do crunch in the background).
