Correct, well, non-blocking as per the time of the scan at least. The gag is that the ureter ( = urine tube ) gets narrower as you go from kidney to bladder. Topologically it is similar to a simple trumpet/horn ( no loops ) with the wide end at the kidney and the narrow end at the bladder. Plus there a two traditional points of 'snagging' :

- as the ureter dips into the pelvis it has a slight bend in it.

- as it plugs into the bladder it goes diagonally through the muscle layers of the bladder wall.

More rarely it can block at the bladder outlet ie. the plughole that drains into the anterior midline male euphemism ( AMME ).

I still think that the Friday before the scan, a stone came through my male euphemism.

Dom Perignon and Tequila Ley

Dom Perignon and Tequila Ley would make excellent slammers... *start cutting up lemons* and we could mix gold leaf in with the salt...

or we could slam it with some Armand De Brignac Midas instead... yes! Let's do that!

Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

I saw a story last week that lemons in restaurants should NEVER be consumed!!! They are touched by dozens of people who rarely wash their hands and then lastly by the bartender whose hands have been only 'rinsed' at best during their entire shift, all the while touching everything from dirty bottles to cleaning up patrons bar food and napkins. Essentially they are soooo full of germs and bacteria as to be the cause of many a problem, if we then put it anywhere near our own food and drink.

On that happy note I am going to a restaurant today and will order an iced tea to drink, no lemon though!!

Whew! It looked for a while

Whew! It looked for a while like I screwed up big time at work, but it turns out I didn't. Everyone thinks I was unclear when I wasn't, though.

Yikes ! I've just looked that up. But I guess you wouldn't mind if I was homeless next week. It just goes to show, if you are going to shout a round at the pub you have to check the bar first.

Meanwhile we should raise whichever glasses are in hand to David for being this week's anatomy demonstrator. You have all passed "Wastewater Plumbing 103 : The Blockage Scenarios" and I will send your certificates out soon. Next week's topic is "The Main Brain Bendy Bone : Methods of Straightening". I would appreciate a volunteer that doesn't need either their brain or that bone at all from now on, though perhaps I ought ask after the Armand.

Cheers, Mike.
