Dr Mike I too have had more than my share of those bang bang tube machines, I do not like that you have to lie perfectly still or they have to start over, I'm not in there because I feel fine and being in one position too long makes it worse!!! I have never had the headphones, just the piped in music thru some cheap speakers.

Mikey- does your current house have breakers or fuses? One of the reasons I don't go for a whole house gen is I'm afraid they'd insist on replacing my whole fuse box, and then maybe rewire the whole house, since most of the outlets don't have ground holes.
They changed out our electric meters with smart ones fairly recently. One paranoid woman was loudly agitating against it and refusing to allow access to her property. I don't remember the details, but she got her new meter. Next week, I have to take a half day off for a water meter replacement, which seems silly to me. I also see my urologist again that day, which is the real reason for the half day.

Technique: Noncontrast study performed.axial images from just superior to the kidneys through the symphysis pubis
Iterative reconstruction technique was used for dose reduction.
Findings:
Due to the noncontrast nature of this study the exam is less sensitive for detecting parenchymal abnormalities of the solid upper abdominal organs.
2 mm calculus proximal right ureter series 5 image 59. No hydronephrosis.
The right ureter distal to the small calculus is of normal caliber.
On the left side no renal or ureteral calculi are seen.
No dilated bowel or enlarged lymph nodes. No enlarged vascular structures.
No gallbladder distention or biliary dilatation.
Part of the left mid to lower abdomen at the periphery is not included on the image in part related to patient body habitus..
Impression: Small right proximal ureteral calculus as described.
I gather this means I have a 2mm stone on the right (which the x-ray they also took didn't see) and no other problems. I suppose I should feel good about being so healthy, for someone in my awful condition.

In my area the power company must have 'unfettered access to their equipment whenever they want it', if you have a fence and/or outside animal though they will usually schedule a convenient time, that usually means during the day time normal working hours for them. I'm guessing that's what happened to that "paranoid woman" too, they demanded access to THEIR equipment or they would get a Court Order and just remove it and leave her in the dark. They see that alot in areas where people try to 'cheat the meter' and then refuse to let the power company people in to do routine maintenance. As a f/f we worked with them alot and they HAD some stories to tell! Often we would have to pull the meter because obviously we would get there long before they could and they would tell us about some of the things they found, some were very scary!! ie using a hacksaw blade to jump the prongs in the box then placing the meter so it ran a little bit, but most of the power went thru the hacksaw blade bypassing the meter. Would YOU grab a hacksaw blade and jam in the main? I wouldn't that's ALOT of power going thru some rubber coating on a pair of pliers!!!!
When they replaced my water meter they left a note on my door saying that were doing it on a certain day and that I should not plan on using the water while they were doing the changeover, which normally takes 30 minutes they said. Mine is at the curb so no need for me to be home.
[EDIT] There are very good reasons for replacing a Federal Pacific breaker box. Google "Federal Pacific breaker box replacement" to find out why.
Down here in Florida if you have a Federal Pacific breaker box you should have it replaced before selling the house. If you hire a good building inspector he will ensure that a potential buyer is notified. I had mine changed out about 3 years ago for ~$1000. In many cases the breakers did not trip when they should have. In my case the electrician also found that the A/C breaker was 100 amp. The A/C pulled much less that that so if the A/C had gone wonky it would have melted into a pile of molten metal and the breaker would have remained closed. It was worth the cost of the change out even though it took most of the day.
[EDIT] While here the electrician noted that the house ground bar at ground level had deteriorated to about 5mm. He replaced the ground bar with a new one and had to re-sleeve the under ground power lines to the meter which required FPL's intervention because the conduit on the side of the house was galvanized and had broken down after 30 years. One thing I can say about FPL is that they are quite professional. My utilities are underground so they arranged for shutting off the power at the in ground transformer while the electrician did his work and then showed up to restore power. Very little inconvenience for me, the "happy home owner".

Getting 3 trains past each other is easy, provided there are at least 2 tracks and at least 1 switch between them. It should not involve any screaming, except perhaps under the dispatcher's breath when the train crews don't get their butts moving promptly. I saw a video last night about the British Columbia Railway (produced in 1986 or so, when it still existed as a separate company, before it was swallowed whole by Canadian National, its Canadian Pacific Royal Hudson never to see the light of day again (at least so far)). In one segment, we were on board the passenger train, 4 RDC cars, and had to duck into what appeared to be a spur into some business to let the freight train go past on the main, then back out and continue on our way. In another segment, a freight going the same way as the passenger train (north) was stopped on the main and a southbound freight was in the siding. The RDCs went into the siding, the northbound freight backed south of the switch, the RDCs backed out and took off, then the freight followed them, and finally the other freight went on its way.
What I'm screaming about is spending nearly $1,000 on car repairs so I can finally get my emissions test, after which I can spend another $101 on a new license plate sticker before I get a ticket for it expiring 15 days ago.
