Maybe start with a dessert coffee then, ie Irish Coffee, that way you get the flavor of the alcohol as opposed to the flavor of the coffee. There are tons of flavors of coffee now....donut, almond, french vanilla, cake, there are probably hundreds! I use cream and sugar in mine, actually I use Splenda, but just black won't work for me!!

I'm still nursing a banged up

I'm still nursing a banged up leg.  Thankfully it's starting to feel better.  I'm not going to press my luck by going shopping.

I forgot it was the weekend

I forgot it was the weekend until it wasn't anymore - which to be honest is a bit of an annoying time to find out  :( It also made last week far longer than the long week it already was by last Tuesday, and is going to make this week extraordinarily longer than that, just by tomorrow... let alone the day after

*frown*

I think what you bang it on can make a big difference to recovery times, Kathryn *exhaust medical knowledge*  I do hope it's better soon though.

Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

Assuming it's your leg that is being nursed then I wish you a speedy recovery. Or along the lines of Annie's thinking perhaps speed is not advised.

You're not calendrically challenged are you ? Having said that though we have embarked upon our Daylight Stealing phase DownUnda. You grab it from the morning and give it back later in the day. I reckon some is being siphoned off elsewhere, so we are down as a nett amount.

We have also had our Football Grand Final ( it's the type of football where all players may grapple the ball with their hands ), for me an incredible bore. Apparently a rude dog ate a beautiful bird.

LOL : I've been offered a place at a conference entitled 'Meet The Coroner' as part of my Continuing Professional Development program. Somehow I'd rather go for an educational day on, say, 'How Not To Meet The Coroner' ......

Aside : this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Atomic Force Microscope ! You too can write in really teensy tiny small letters so that after we are extinct, a future civilisation may read it ! But only providing that they :

- are really small themselves, and/or

- know where to look, and/or

- have the technology, and/or

- give a stuff.

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Actually I ought be wishing anybody's leg to get better ...

My leg feels much better.

My leg feels much better.  I'm still not 100%, but at least I can walk without wanting to cry.  All because I passed out and did battle with a wall.  Thankfully, my head crashing into the other wall didn't do any major damage.  Or at least I think it didn't.  It's hard to tell with me.

I found out the last 10 years

I found out the last 10 years that doing things like weightlifting and basketball playing for 25 years did NOT make a strong and healthy and pain-free body Frown

My knees are shot and my ankles and feet hurt all day and my back is pain from top to bottom and lately my shoulders have been hurting all the time I am awake.

Now it was fun doing that in my younger days but right now I see guys who didn't do what I did are not in pain all the time.........ok  they are still small and scrawny.......but could out run me no problem........so all I can do is say "small and scrawny" Laughing

But I'm pretty sure none of this would apply to you young ladies Innocent

BUT I still have to do all the work around my 5 acre Kingdom.......like now I have to haul home the 2 tons of wood pellets to heat the place this winter (100 forty pound bags)

And I was hoping to finish painting the house........but I did finally get the new water heater installed by paying a local plumber $650 Cry

Which is why I always tended to do things here myself.

.....1:40pm......nothin' done so far today

Good evening everyone.

Good evening everyone.  Laughing

Been awhile since I've posted in here; thought I'd let you all know that I'm still alive and crunching.  Laughing

I hope your leg continues to heal, Kathryn.  God bless.  Laughing

Been crunching 15 hours a day for quite awhile now.  Total Credits are almost at David's level, now.  RAC is hitting between 127 to 131 K.  (Three GPUs crunching...  Two on Andromeda, and one on Exeter.  All crunching 2 Units at a time.)

These are two Tasmanian

devils.jpg

These are two Tasmanian Devils at the sanctuary today. Next to the watering hole. Whose watering hole, you may ask ? Well, let's call them Lefty and Righty.

After much yelling ( a very evil sound, hence their name ) and posturing Lefty swiped Righty, a fair smack on the bum ! Righty ran away and Lefty had a drink. Standard Aussie pub rules then .... :-)

Lefty and Righty are products of a captive breeding program, so far successful, to restock them in the wild. A few years ago a meiotic driven genetic mutation causing a very fatal cancer dropped populations by more than ninety five percent. The driven bit is where the mutation is preferentially included in the germ cells, a nasty mechanism that causes the mutation to spread rapidly. Individuals usually live for about five to six years and normally breed at around fifteen months, so it didn't take long with that population turnover. It was traced to a single mutation in one female. Anyhows a combination of different lineages from populations in separate zoos has yielded a clean blood line. The descendants have been released onto an island in Bass Strait ( b/w Tasmania and the mainland ) which previously had none. This group will be the pool to ultimately restock Tasmania, but after they have learnt to live wild again.

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Yes, they are evil little blinders for sure. Not cuddly. They are classified as carnivorous marsupials ( young raised in pouches like kangaroos ) and have been known to bite human fingers clean off. Just my type of mammal actually & so I sponsor the program to return these Darwinian "beasties from hell" back into original habitat. For preference they devour socialist greenie yuppies pony-tailed-eco-warriors small animals that hike ride camp write poetry live in the Tassie bushland.
