Morning all. Seems like this day is cursed for my family. A couple years ago dad had his gallbladder out. Today my brother is having his appendix out. Maybe I should go hide out for the rest of the day.
You're probably okay for today, but watch out on this date in the next few years.

Well Kath I have found both of those types of surgery are quite easy these days and recovery happens fairly fast without problems.
My younger brother had the appendix version way back in 1968 and he was even late having it to where it can be a problem but he never had any problems the rest of his life with that.......and my wife had her gall bladder removed about 15 years ago and she never had problems with that and it was a very easy surgery (I was surprised by that)
Doctors can do those surgeries like they make cars......one after another (Dr Mike can probably agree)
But I hope all goes well with your brother and your Dad doesn't have other typical health problems.
(both my parents and my brother and both sisters are gone and I am the oldest child)
The best thing is having a doctor you can trust and always check on problems early.
Next couple of days in Florida is going to be challenging. Most are taking this hurricane seriously especially now that the eye wall is likely to graze land around Cocoa Beach, just south of the launch pads and about 15 minutes north of my location. Tidal surge of 5 feet and 11 inches of rain are being forecast at present but this can change. Finished shuttering the house and will be heading for Orlando tomorrow. This house has served me well in the past and I am hoping it will continue to do so. Fingers "X".
A friend of mine lives in Deltona Fla. and he always tells me the storms never make it to his house for some reason.
Man this sure is strange not having my 6 computers running Einstein GPU's and me not having to make sure they are all loaded and ready and check the temp. of each card and the room temp.
I have 12 tasks left total and then I guess I will actually close the window since those GeForce cards are all running at 40C or less instead of the usual 55-65C
The Boinc Manager looks strange with just 3 or 4 Cern tasks running.

That's a big sucker. I hope it goes well for yourself and others down that way.
Cheers, Mike.

God bless, robl. I wish you the best.
Andromeda, (MAC OSX with two EVGA GTX-750TI SC cards), has run out of BRP6 work. Exeter, (Win XP Pro x64 with EVGA GTX-760), ran out of BRP6 work yesterday and is now almost out of Beta BRP4G work. While ALL other work, (except CPU work), is set to be accepted on both computers; NO other work is coming in to my two systems.
I have resumed crunching SETI Beta on both systems to keep the systems working. I hope Einstein@Home gets this resolved quickly.
Well, I almost caught up to David's Total Credits... Too bad I've run out of work...

So while the storm blows some wind and rain at your place you are going on vacation...you're my kind of storm guy!! I am moving to the beach by the end of the year, I'm moving South of Wilmington, NC though, too hot for me down by you robl!! This will be new full time home, not a 2nd home, the storm is predicted to come near my new place but then veer off into the ocean, maybe even doing a hook and coming round for another swipe at the US. LOTS of variables once it veers though. My new house has a roof but no drywall yet, drywall was supposed to happen this week, but the storm put most construction on hold so there is no loose stuff able to fly around and damage any of the other homes. I'm moving into a neighborhood and there are homes that are finished and homes that are in various degrees of construction going on too. I'm moving from a 3 story 4 bedroom Colonial style home to a 3 bedroom ranch style home, it's quite a change for my wife and I, but no more steps which is a very good thing!!!
