Can you give the exact sequence of steps you used to login, the starting URL, and what you pressed to login?  For example on this page

https://einsteinathome.org/user

I noticed of you press the black

at the page top the page simply refreshes but does not login,

the blue

at the bottom does of course work.

When I attempt to log into my account from the home page, the page refreshes to show the home page again, ignoring my entries, i.e., no "Account" option is shown in the menu bar of the page. It consistently takes two tries before I'm logged in.

I haven't seen this problem reported by anyone else, so maybe it's unique to my computer.

Make sure your URL bar reads: einsteinathome.org and not einstein.phys.uwm.edu. If you use the latter, login won't work correctly.

Fixed: hosted webcast

Have a look at your original second link with rich-text disabled (switch right below the editor window). The BBCode url tag contains an extra <span> which breaks the BBCode. Removing it fixes the problem. Any idea how it ended up there in the first place? This typically happens when stuff gets copied and pasted and the source is a HTML page.

Thanks Oliver.

I think I obtained both URL's by a similar method from a similar source.  Quite likely the source page presented them a bit differently.  I don't even know what a span tag is, but will know to look for one using the rich text disabled switch if I have this trouble in the future.  Thank you very much.

(not usre if it's been mentioned before, this thread is very long)

When I open a thread which contians some new post, I'd like to either be directly taken to the 1st new post, or I'd like to have a button to go there directly. Currently with the new website I have to click the thread, get to the bottom of the page, click last page, and maybe navigate to some earlier page if there were any earlier posts.

If you have visited the thread before, then the number in the "Replies" column should be a blue link. When clicked it should take you to the first comment/post that you have not read.

What you say about the "replies column" with a blue link is sometimes true, but not always.  There seems to be a great deal of inconsistency in this area.  In some categories there are new posts but the "replies" column is not blue.  Sometimes it is blue but when I go there the last entry is one I have already read.  I understand that new forum upgrades go through some growing pains but for now I would like to see a date/time stamp in the "last reply column" (including the featured threads) until this confusion gets sorted out.  I am spending too much time looking at threads that do not require my attention and missing posts in areas of interest.
