At the time of writing I see this thread having 57 posts (this will be #58) but when i page through the thread i only see 43 posts.  It appears some of the older posts of 5 August are missing.

I just counted all the posts in this thread and I count 59 (this post will be #60). I am sorting: Oldest post first, 30 comments per page. What are your account settings?

Is it possible you're ignoring another user(s) and that's causing some posts not to appear?

Thanks Shawn for the idea, that somewhat explains it, i had thought i had ignored myself for a while!

The ignore functionality is causing the dropping of reply posts on last page which follow the ignored post.  To replicate open this thread in two windows and navigate to last page. (newest post first / 20 per page)

As a test (sorry Juha you're that last person i'd normally suggest to ignore) ignore JUHA.

Refresh last page you will see the expected

"Juha is on your ignore list. Click here to view this post."

BUT ... older replies below will disappear.  It is easy to see when the old and new pages are side by side.

Don't forget to un-ignore Juha!

Image upload using the "img"

Image upload using the "img" tags gives :

or using the Insert/Edit Image dialog gives :

wisdom.jpg

... that is, nothing shows. I'm using Rich Text & BBCode.

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Mike,

I tried quoting your post and adding a img tag trial of my own.  Mine did not display in the preview, so I deleted it before posting.  That just duplicates your result.

But here's the funny thing: When I was in the edit box to make this post with your quoted previous post, right in the edit box I could actually see your second image (presumably the one you used the Insert/Edit image dialog on).

So this little editing function box is able/willing to display images under conditions where the actual posting shows nothing!

Quite right. You can see it in the edit box, and one time it showed with a "TO BE PUBLISHED" watermark over the entire post on preview with an 'UNHIDE' option on the little menu bar above, but un-hiding made no difference.

So I'm assuming it's a permissions thingy as clearly the server actually gets and can display the image correctly.

Cheers, Mike.

I added the image problem on

I added the image problem on top of the todo list and will do some more tests when exactly this is happening.

Poking around, I think you are using #0091cc for the light blue color. Why not just use something like #0000cc?

Design choice. We constrain the colors to the ones which are part of our new logo, for consistency. The current blue isn't that unusual as link color.

We seem to be in the middle of a switchover as to whether (from my browser) the "en-us" component is present or not.  I tried reloading the page to see if I might evade a stale copy caching problem, but the error persisted.

When I wrote that news item I made the mistake to include the "en-us" localisation term (which doesn't exist anymore). One should never do that as it forces a visitor onto that localisation. I fixed the news item.

I see the current Profile

I see the current Profile pages got all messed up and the img's don't work and I just tried an edit on mine

(and even doing a copy and paste of that won't let me continue my post here)

BIG waste of time if I/we have to wait for a moderator every time we do anything and all I did was DELETE one of my img links ........I think my 11+ years here 24/7 is good enough to give me something  (hey I am up at 2am doing this)

and now get *Profile awaiting moderator approvalPathp » span

Sorry, a change is a change and not everybody is as well behaved as you are, so we need to moderate those. Profile approved. FYI, the image issue is under investigation as you might have read.
