Thalasso:
You should report this over on this thread. That's where all the Beta test problems ae being reported. Bruce just mentioned that they've found the bug, it'll take a few days to build a new client.
Good news. David Anderson has just checked in fixes to the BOINC API library that should (once and for all) get rid of these problems. Bernd is on a transatlantic airplane right now; so it may take us a few days to get a new test app build ready.
Bruce
Great news. I'll keep an eye out for it after Bernd gets back.
Now I hope you're going to give him a day to rest first. Those Trans-Oceanic trips can take a lot out of a person. ;-)

Where can we get the new BOINC with the fixes?
You don't need a new BOINC client or client manager. You need a new Einstein@Home application. As soon as it's ready, I'll post something to this thread. But it will take a few days.

We Must look for intelligent life on other planets as,
it is becoming increasingly apparent we will not find any on our own.
David Anderson has fixed the BOINC API library bug that was causing unpredictable hangs in test app version 0.11. Bernd has build version 0.12 and I have done some very minimal testing (both Bernd and I are traveling right now, which make it hard to be thorough). Please download it from the app test page. Please continue to report success or problems with the Mac OS X test app to this discussion group thread.
Ok thats done. The next two WU from my system will be listed as 011 WUs but using your spoofing tech. they will actually be processed by 012. Here we go.
Thanks
Phil

This should be a good test. I'll be running 50% on this and 50% on an alpha for a new super Optimized SETI App that is being done by a couple of developeres on the Berkeley side. The Mac SETI App is much quicker then any optimized apps done to date. Now the only question is will it "validate" properly.

Is the SETI Alpha open for testers?

I don't think it is favortism, just that Team MacNN had been providing links to JavaLizard's original optimized SETI app for so long, they thought we were a logical place to get serious testers.
There are 2 G4 versions and 1 for G5. Apparently the current version does require OS 10.4.2x because of the libraries used. I've tried all three versions on my G5, and they are all significantly faster then JavaLizard's original. (which has been around for a long time now) I posted some times in that forum. but don't see much difference between the G5 version and the G4 7400 version but don't have enough samples for a good comparision.
So far it is playing nice with the Einstein Beta. Running 50/50 but watching it closely. The SETI validators are running way behind, so don't know if these will validate yet. That is really what they are looking for from the testers, some platform variations and seeing if there are any problems with the science code or results.

There are a number of points in the current WUs that are particulary sensible to this bug. You'll see them as 0%, 49.5%, 99% and 100% progress.
