I suspect that nobody has figured a way to make money with it.
But there are washing machines making use of it to decide how dirty your laundry is and set accordingly the work parameters.

I don't think deciding how dirty your laundry is, will make people rich:-)
But they could sell it to laundromats, commercial places people go to do their laundry, to save money! And THAT would be a money maker, commercial establishments are always looking for ways to save money. If you could charge people the same money, but actually take less time and energy to get the clothes just as clean, then they will save money.

Solving an everyday problem that is cost effective and makes an end users safer and saves money with confidence (either real or delusional) usually will make somebody a pile of money.. Edit: (I forgot saves time)

Hmmmm .... I'm thinking of ant trails now. They look organised and functionally integrated from several meters away but are completely understandable using entirely small scale and local rules ( time decaying pheromone diffusion gradients ). A young Richard Feynman used to watch such ants all day, occasionally diverting the ants and studying the nest's response. Maybe I should do the same ..... :-)
Cheers, Mike.
What would be interesting is if you could use ant pheromones to change their path, not just a physical change in their path such as a board.
Now we had a termite control guy in a few months ago who used a product, laid beneath our floorboards, that involved pheromones. I should have asked more about it. In any case they were eradicated but by involving them carrying something back to the nest that nailed the queen - in a tree out on the footpath where our local council denied it's presence. So maybe we should pass on part of the invoice to the council .... using the logic of an ant trail connection.
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

I do the same thing with "instant grits" here at home, whenever I find an ant nest I sprinkle 'instant grits' around the hole and the ants take it down for food for the queen. Since it is instant it absorbs all the water out of her and she explodes and the colony dies. I can buy a box of 6 little packages for under 3 bucks US. http://www.quakeroats.com/products/other-products/grits/instant-grits-plain.aspx
A pest control guy told me to do that many years ago. It takes a couple to three days to work, but it has not failed me yet!
ps I emailed the link to the "fuzzy logic" shampoo to a friend that has already lost most of his hair, he will NOT think it is funny, but the rest of us will!
LHC has reached 7 TeV so far, bur we are getting cosmic rays with fare greater energies both in the South and North hemispheres coming from "hot spots" so far not identified. I don't thing we are reaching the energy density of the Big Bang nor we shall reach it in the future. Physicists are already planning a Large Linear Collider more powerful and costly than LHC. The study of cosmic rays is again a bleeding edge of physics, as it was in the post war period in Italy, with the Testa Grigia Observatory near Mount Cervino (Matterhorn). Cosmic rays are cheap. Cheers.

I've seen articles on one of the sources of powerful cosmic rays being identified. There is a certain galaxy with the large black hole at the center having an axis of rotation nearly directly aimed at Earth. Whenever anything falls into that black hole, it is shredded into atoms and even smaller particles, and some of them spew out along the axis of rotation, fast enough to become cosmic rays.

I admit to possibly understating the impact of Fuzzy Logic ... :-)
PS. DHT is dihydrotestosterone by the way.

Yep. Indeed. Most likely far better than Mens Contingent Logic Shampoo ever could. :-)
Cheers, Mike.
( edit ) Here's the same in a bulk pack at $65 per litre.
