... in the middle of a computation. Try to find out what happened to your machine at that time. Maybe some program broke or filled the filesystem, or changed the permissions. If you can't find the error, try removing and re-installing BOINC, preserve the account_*.xml files from the BOINC directory at most.
thanks, i have no idea what caused it. it looks like it all happend on the 23rd the only thing that happend that day is i shut down that system so i could move it (rearranging furniture) so far its 64% in to its next WU so will see what happens.
seeing without seeing is something the blind learn to do, and seeing beyond vision can be a gift.
I've seen something similar to this happen on a machine where the disk developed some bad sectors. If you get a similar problem again, try stopping BOINC (and any other things running) and doing a complete check of your filesystem and scanning your disk for bad sectors.
You didn't happen to bump your machine while relocating it by any chance :-).

nope. left it stationary and shut it down via vnc. so far 2 completed and validated.
not a bad idea on the disk check. wish i thought of it :)
