A new MacOS X Intel App is available from our Beta Test Page.
It is the first "separate graphics App" ("APIv6") for the MaOS X Intel platform. Furthermore it features some more tweaking with the sin/cos code and some prefetching instructions to speed up memory access in the "Hough" part. Many thanks to Bikeman for these improvements!
Happy testing!

You're welcome!
I installed it on my MacMini. If all goes as expected the speedup should be noticeable immediately.

The prefetching speeds up the "Hough" part of the code, which is also responsible for the variation in runtime between different workunits of the same frequency. I guess the variation should be reduced significantly wit this App.

Interesting. After I copied the 4.33 files to my E@H folder, I tried to restart BOINC. I got an error code concerning permissions and was instructed to reinstall BOINC. Reinstalled BOINC 5.10.34 (same version as before) and everything worked fine.
Same thing happened after I copied the 4.22 files, but I thought it was a fluke. Any ideas on what's happening?

)
This is caused by the special "sandbox" feature that BOINC uses on MacOS. See the installation instructions on the beta app page on how to fix this condition without a complete re-install.

The ownership of the files is wrong. Reinstalling BOINC will solve it, but is not necessary. Alternatively:
1) Quit BOINC
2) Copy the files to the einstein project folder
3) In a terminal:
cd /Library/Application\\ Support/BOINC\\ Data/projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu/
sudo chown boinc_master:boinc_project *
4) Restart BOINC

I am getting an error message from the app_info.xml, when BOINC starts.

It appears to be working anyway.
