You missed my second message

You missed my second message ... I realized my mistake right after I posted ...

And, I do have it set to 8 ...

Though at the moment, for whatever reason, I can't get EAH work to make another test. I don't THINK I have hit my daily quota... though I MAY have ... I have EAH set at a high priority so I will do a lot of EAH work ... though I have MOST of my project running on the system to keep it busy ... so far, have never run out ... but, it sure does go through the work ...

What I need is the universal installer so these mistakes can't be made ... :)

HInt ... hint ...

Well, it looks like I have

Well, it looks like I have both versions installed and running.

It may be too early to make the call, but, at least to this moment it looks like the speed is slower than the stock version.

I guess I will have to run a few work units through to know for sure ...

Not sure what I did wrong unless it was to put the power PC one on the G5 like I know I put the G5 version on the Xeon machine ...

Never said I was perfect ...

At least they are running and one has an hour on its clock so that looks good ...

Are their different "classes" or lengths of WU?

I have been gone and trying to catch up while building a new computer is kinda hard ...

Thank!

Yes, zhe processing length of WUs can vary +/- 10 - 20 % and more, this thread discusses in depth how to predict whether you are crunching a "slow" or "fast" WU which makes it easier to compare performance when trying a new app.

I was hoping that was true ... thanks for the refernece ...

What a difference 2 years makes ... :)

I got 2:33 and 00:57 on two WU on the Mac Pro so that looks to be working and 00:56 on the G5 so that seems to be working too ...

I will go look at that thread ... thanks for the tip ...

When I left EAH the G5 optimized app was 2-5 times faster than the standard version ... but times change ...
