It's bluffing :-). It's really running the new app, but as the app_info.xml tells BOINC that 4.26 should continue all tasks intended for 4.15, it acts as an alias for 4.15 (sort of).
You can verify this by looking into the stderr.txt file that gets written to one of the slots/* directories. It will contain a line about 4.26 starting.

You can also look at your Windows Task Manager and that will truthfully show you what application version is running! ;)
I have switched from 4.15 to 4.26. All results valid. Crunching time decreased from 24000-28000 down to 21000-24000 (http://einsteinathome.org/workunit/36575564).
So also 14% faster. (The CPU is a Q6600 @ 3.36 Ghz).
Nice work.
It seems that all speed-freaks are now running this 4.26 App, and almost nobody pays attention to 4.25 anymore. Actually I'd like to have an App that I could make "official default" at some point, and that should run reliable under Vista, too.
Could people try to get this App running on Vista as much as possible? I'm a bit afraid that it won't work because of the old compiler and libraries I used...

I should have mentioned earlier that I am running 4.26 with Vista Home 32bit. So far I have had about 9 validated WUs and all seem good. With faster wingmen.
