Happy Groundhog Day... It looks like Punxsutawney Phil came out, saw his shadow and went back down ... meaning six more weeks of winter.. I will try to keep you posted on the other fellas
Edit: Shubenacadie Sam says the same thing and Wiarton Willie says six more weeks of winter..

Not only is it groundhog day, it's my sister's birthday. In honour of the event she caused the whole of the UK to be shut down by heavy snow falls and I got the day off work. We've been in the park playing in the snow.

OK, photos processed from the Vietnam trip. Here's some random Aussie tourist in Hanoi - after a liquid lunch, apparently. :-) :-)
Cheers, Mike.
( edit ) BTW, off to my left about 200 yards is the spot in a lake where ( Senator John ) McCain went down during the war. They seemed keen to point that out for some reason .... :-) :-)
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

@ Rod - just post a full lunch ( 7 courses + wine ) so you sort of agree to anything :-) :-)
@ tullio - good catch! :-) This project certainly brings out the 'inner nerd' in me too! Many others no doubt. I like ( my emphasis ):

This is soooo true.

Actually she was selling those fruit, but we'd been prewarned about hygiene/quality on street stalls - so I declined. She then looked forlorn and fluttered her eyelids, while pointing to the 'baby in tummy' - so I took pity ( sap that I am ) and paid her $20K Dong ( ~ $2 AUD ) to use her gear as a prop for the photo. There's an incredible number of hawkers about just hovering. On a mountain pass between Danang and Hue I made the mistake of buying a can of Coke and we had to jump back into the minivan real quick as we were deluged by prospects - like the Wall Street trading floor! Later on a taxi ride back to the hotel the driver told me that there were many beautiful women in Vietnam, and would I like to meet some? :-) :-)
The best time we had was in Hoi An ( south of Danang ) where I purchased tailor made suits and hand made shoes. Very relaxed with no pressure, so we joked and drank lots of green tea while I was kitted out. Really nice people ..... :-)
Cheers, Mike.
