It's quiet here. I guess everyone is mulling over Mike's last post.
I earnestly hope no one is put off participating on account of my ideas! Please converse on if that's the case, I don't have a special license on account of mod status. :-)
I just think there is a quiet but powerful shift occurring, with people ( youth especially ) employing the old fashioned type networks of trusted personal contacts. Remember the days when people used to write letters alot? Now we can do that at the drop of a hat, electronically, but the idea is the same. Broadcasting by news organisations is being auto-ignored in the same way we deal with, say, roadside billboards. It's becoming a sort of background static in our lives that we tune out.

TV News Broadcasting caters to the over forty crowd.. It does not really offer any content or style that interests the under forty crowd. Who knows when all the boomers are going senile TV news broadcasting might go the way of the Billboard (better use of the spectrum :-)) or change to the point you won't recognize it anymore

Well I'm not quite 40 yet :D
There are news programmes that I don't think are worth watching as they give a very superficial summary of events that doesn't really allow understanding of the situation. On the TV in the UK I'll watch the channel 4 news at 7pm if I want some decent news. Or the BBC's Newsnight at 10.30pm if usually okish. BBC's radio 4 is much better than it's TV coverage. I just watched the ITV lunchtime news for the first time in a long time and felt a bit embarrassed for them. It was like children's TV.

I learnt 'A' is for apple and 'D' is for dog in one, and that has held me in good stead for some years now! My dog also gets plenty of apples ....... :-)

What I remember from Kindergarten... A doctor stopped by and I ask what was that in his pocket.. I got to listen to his heart through his stethoscope..

Most commercial stations DownUnda have news reports along the lines of "Clever Canine Catches Frisbee!!" type stories, even applying such a formula to tragedies particularly - "Sharks Have Supper At Sorrento Seaside!!" or "Multi-car Pile up Massacres Many Mothers". It can be funnier ( not the content but the puppet-like actions of presenters - Thunderbirds Are Go!! ) to watch with the sound turned down. Of course I needn't remind you of what high esteem Fleet Street is held worldwide - though they'd sue me of course. :-):-)
