The Admins know. But

Message 58938 in response to message 58937

The Admins know.

But David Hammer is too busy with other things at the moment.
Bruce Allen is moving from the USA to Germany.
Bernd Marschalk doesn't have rights to edit the front page.

It's done on the server itself, not through anyone's PC at work/home. So for the moment only David might be able to do it. If and when he gets his head around it. The stability problems are still not solved. Maybe it's best if those were solved first, don't you think?

I managed to get all that info from reading a thread.
I'm sorry you feel I stepped on your toes, but it really isn't that important. When the date is eventually corrected, the RSS feeds will also be corrected. I think stability of the project is number one on the list though, not if the news showing is of 1998 or 2010.

I can truly understand that they are busy, And I never said once that it was a major issue at all, I only just bumped the thread.

Yes of course, I don't see the need to address the older post to begin with, My Bump was based on the fact that since the original user posted this thread, There have been more posts on the mainpage since then, Still using the old date. More than likely a copy/paste habit im sure, But one that seemed like they were not aware they were still doing it? As I can't believe that anyone would purposely post an update knowing the date is wrong, And still not having the time to change one digit in it, And thus making all afterwards incorrect still. So it would seem to me, That either they are not yet aware of the date issue yet, Or would rather post a newsupdate, But not feel they have the time to change one digit ?

That to me is the whole point, You obviously are an avid forums board poster here, And perhaps have had this discussion with others on other threads or something, I don't know. But not everyone goes to all the forums boards and reads every post, I in fact hardly ever have here, So when I do after almost two years do post what I think to be a valid post, At the correct threads, For a error that hasn't been addressed, I don't expect to be critisied for it by anyone. Perhaps in the future, You and the others that are so quick to pass judgement on someone else's post, or motives behind them, Might should think twice before criticizing them for it.

Everyone complaining about them not being able to report results were pointed to that same thread for a long time. That people only read the front page is not a good enough reason. Even if the front page uses a wrong date.

If that happens for a couple of times, you go look for a reason. Use the search. Read more than one thread.

As quick as we seem to pass judgement, you do it as well. You didn't look for a reason and when that reason was presented to you, albeit in a curt way, you went against it and flamed the bringer of the news. Luckily for you I can take a thing or two, I never even red-x'ed any of your posts. :-)

Had you lurked on the forums for the past two years, you'd have seen that a lot of the information is released on the forums. Usually prior to it being released in the news. I even managed to bring Bruce Allen on two occasions news about his own project by emailing him. :-)

Not sure how many times I have to say this, But where was I complaining about the date error ? Is mentioning a error that you are not sure of that the adms have not corrected yet, to be considered complaining to you ? There was an error, I went to where the forums instructions said to post any errors or problems too that you may see. I searched that threads listings, Saw it was reported on almost two weeks earlier, And was way down on the threads list. Read it, Saw since its posting, Another Web Update was posted with the same error again. Assumned that the adm would correct the error, If they knew about it, So I thought I would bump the thread back to the top, So IF they hadn't, They would then know about it. Are you now saying that I didn't do enough research beforehand ? Do you really expect everyone who is to report anything, To goto the entire forums board search engine, And type in a keyword, And then read all the threads they are listed with that keyword, Read them all, Decide if it is still a valid post, Then go from there ? A kindly thanks for the report, But they are aware, Would have been just as easy to type then what you responded with, As I would have also responded with a Thanks and been on my way.

I wasn't looking for a reason, I wasn't complaining about it, Reread my first post, I had not asked for any explination from anyone, Not even the Adms, It was posted simply to bring attention to the original poster, Not my post. If I wanted to know why, I would have asked, If I wanted to complain, I would have, My post was simply a bump of the original. You really seem to think I was mad, Or upset, Or was really concerned about the issue originally, I wasn't, Trust me, I wasn't. But what does and did get to me was your response to it, At least someone is finially willing to admit that it was a Curt response now, That is what started all of this, Not my bump. But as you say (Although for a different reason), Does it really even matter ? Finially, As far as being "Lucky" you didn't Red X me, Until I read that, I wasn't even aware of it here. At this point, I may just detach from here all together, As I surely don't feel this to be a very user friendly project after this now. And at that, I do find sad.

Read the smilies. If you can't get by with a little humour in your life, you won't survive on most of these forums.

As for going to detach because one person said something to you that you find nasty, why are you crunching EAH? For the science or for the forums? I think for the science.

If I am right, you blew a casket out of nowhere and keep on crunching. Your attitude of "You said something nasty and so I will detach and leave this project" is probably good for a kindergarten, but not on here.

See ya around. :)

I see no humor in the

I see no humor in the previous statements, Perhaps some users do not look at the forums boards, As a place to be belittled, Or as you say, Be Curt with someone who just popped in to what they thought was to contribute to the project. I may expect attitudes like yours if I went to the lounge area or something similar, But not here on this thread. Since you seem to speak for the Adms here, Perhaps you should pay more attention to the Rules on the left side of these forums. I can admit I have broken a few myself, But only after your original post to me. In my world, Hostile means not friendly, warm, or generous; not hospitable. Reread your post again, "As if that is so important. The people with access to the server to edit those messages are doing other things at the moment. " Seems to me it wasn't me who blew their Gasket first. :-)

Now I understands the hostility and rules breaking by us two, We both be Pirates short of Rum, And no gold dust be falling on us lately. Will drive pirates to desperate means it will. Maybe some rum would be nice, If we can borrow some somewhere.
