I compare result of my

I compare result of my testing WU produced by official app and S5T0713. The difference seems to big. It will be interesting, if anybody get valid result.

EDIT:
Example of diferences (one row from output file):
orig app: 229,4992364034 0,010001 -0,843352 -3,4373e-009 31,1487
S5T713: 229,4992394373 5,45774 0,538995 -7,1104e-009 32,6273

Once we get all this sorted

Once we get all this sorted it might be a good idea to start this thread afresh. Starting with a new set of instructions and fresh links to the latest stable/test app and a known working app_info.xml file. Basicly all thats need to continue from here with as little confusion as possible. This thread is getting very long too.

I'd prefur if I could ask that Akosf be the one to decide when its time to do this when he's decided what the next 'stable' release is maybe, and when he and Bernd have sorting things out in the background.

Also like to add for people

Also like to add for people to have a look at their cpu-temps. Maybe just mine because it's a very hot day here today but my temps have gone up to 68-70C from the usual 65c high (with old S4+ Seti optimized apps). It's probly just because its a very hot day but thought give a heads up for those that don't think to check their temps.

P.S. i know those temps are fine for me but if others are running hot already and get a increase in temp it may be too much for there system.

That's an excellent suggestion. I'd hate to see a lot of workunits trashed over the confusion here. Personally, I'm sticking with S5T0709 for now. It's fast and stable, and you can simply replace the standard app without messing with app_info.xml at all.

you can also do that with 0711, that should be a bit faster and all CPUs can use it. (just for information for other people who dont want that app_info thing)

yes. it better to wait until

yes. it better to wait until the cache is empty.
i have crashed all my WU´s cache by updating to version 0712 and replace the app-name to 4.10, app_info.xml blablabla .
such a stupid idea :( why not the same name as the stock client and good is ???
one can make things difficult ;)

Sorry to hear that Norman. I always backup my entire BOINC directory before playing around with it, and I also turn network access off. That way if I accidentally trash workunits I can revert to my original installation quickly, I don't lose any work, and BOINC won't have communicated with the server in the meantime.

Because Bernd want's to be

Because Bernd want's to be able to keep track of standard vs optimized work. One of his posts has also implied he'll be using a laxer validation for 4.10 to give akos a bit more room to fiddle.

Oh my, the craziness that can happen when one goes on vacation...

I see the S5 units are in full force now, my machine is taking 17 hours to crunch them...

These enhanced WU's have me a bit confused...

For SSE3 CPUs: ---> S5T0709.DAT patch file***Also Out of Date - see S5T0711.DAT in discussion thread

Is this the one we should use, or what's the out of date referring to?

Human Stupidity Is Infinite...
