Just a thought. Might be best if Mark Hewson starts a new "New optimized executables" thread for whatever new apps are created by people(or just akosf again) because the current one is pretty much redundent already. Sorry, theres some ammazing work on there, but in only a few days or so we'll all be completely over to S5 and those S4 apps aren't compatable.
Just tring to avoid anyone accidently using the oldish S4 apps on the new S5 project which we're told is very bad.
Not saying delete the thread- just suggesting a new one will be in order when/if new optimized apps become available.

Both Windows xp latest updates, go up to SSE3 (were using your U41xx apps on einstien)
Pentium 4 HT 3.4Ghz (No OC - HT on) Think its Northwood core or something like that. Prety much prescott derived i think. Currently doing on its first S5 taking 18~19hours p/wu
Pentium D 830 3Ghz 2MB(2x1MB) (Small OC to 3.21Ghz - No HT) Smithfield core. Currently taking 11~12hours on S5 p/wu

I never deleted U41.05 from my Einstein file..since it was for SSE3 and it seems to be working OK on my S5 WU..my question to anyone is whether we are to somehow change this, just leave it alone or was something else automatically loaded from the server?

Your U41.05 will only be used for S4 work. When you got your first S5 work you also got the stock S5 applicaion. If you look in your project einstein folder you will see the new S5R1 4.02 application. Lookig at your S5 results shows they were crunched by the stock S51 4.02 application.
Once all the S4 work is done, then you could delete the U41.05 manually. In the mean time I'd leave it alone.

But i have an idea. I can do modifications on the official application in a short time, so i can do some different test versions with different modifications. We would be able to test these versions in the same time on more computers. If we get good results with a variation i would be able to build this modification into a 'stable' version. So, perhaps these test versions produce invalid results, but the 'stable' version would have only the good improvements.
