BTW ...
My Mac G5 Dual 2.0Gig is turning in a SHORT Hanford in 1hr 09 mins. Each processor that is, so each 1hr 09 min I get 2 'shorties'. (the Hanford long ones take 9 hours)
My P4 2.4 just completed it's first one of the long S5 units, 15.378 Hrs. and got 173.56 credits (11.28 credits/hr.) Way below what I was getting per Hr. with the S4 units but better than other programs.
Hopefully the other Prescott system (still running S4's) will do better than this Northwood system. The AMD's seem to really be doing good on the S5 units.
Here is a link to my Celeron D 2.93, but all S4 at this time. That has been averageing 55 min for the S4...
Thanks Ray,
For comparison I checked some of my old logs for the Celeron D. It crunched an S4 unit with the Akos optimized app in an average of 3300 seconds or 55 minutes, so we are right on the money. You should expect to do an S5 shortie in 1:30 or so.
Dig
I noticed that our systems were running almost the same. Have some S5 in the que now, but all the long ones. Should be finishing up the S4 units later tonight. On this program and Rosetta the smaller L2 Cache (256K) seems to make no diference.

I finished my 1st S5 WU!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
But it took 17 hours and 20 minutes...give or take a minute ;)
Oh well...here's to science!
Edit-That was on a p4 2.4ghz overclocked to 2.8ghz
Kick it away an buy an AMD. *g*

If this maybe helps trying to find answer how to distinguish short/long then here are units i've done. Taken over 11hours each -18hours on second pc.
P D 830 oc3.2Ghz:
h1_0658.5_S5R1__393_S5R1a 41xxx.xx seconds - credit 153.56
h1_0658.5_S5R1__391_S5R1a 41xxx.xx - 174.89
h1_0658.5_S5R1__396_S5R1a not reported yet
P 4 HT(on but only crunching one unit at the time) 3.4ghz
h1_0989.0_S5R1__1300_S5R1a 616xx.xx - 153.91
Maybe someone can take these, others and theirs and compare to find the answer?
P.S. your does a long in 9hours? i'd be happy too. that still beats my supposedly faster pc's!
