I've studied the message boards and I can find no messages about up coming support for Solaris1-X-x86. Sorry.... I know this isn't a "Solaris" forum, but couldn't locate anything with Solaris and x86 or AMD in my search. Wondering if you can tell me what Einstein's plans are with respect to supporting Solaris_x86 and in particular the AMD64 platform? Is source secretly available somewhere? (closed or open?) I sure wouldn't mind hacking it to run on my 4-way Opteron if no one else is working on it.
Kind regards

Bernd, any outlook on updated FreeBSD app?
I'm still working on the x86 code. Once this has settled, I'll make a new FreeBSD App.
Well.... I just noticed that I cannot spell check this moring too! Meant to address Bernd or ????. No idea how I typed 'Brad'. Hope no one's offended by my fat-fingered stupidity this AM.

No plans yet. And as the development team is pretty busy preparing the new code for the next run, I won't expect anything to be done with the old/current code anymore.

Thanks for the reply! What is the status of the code, old or new? Is it open/closed etc? I guess I'd be curious if one could obtain it for one's own use on the Solaris x86/AMD64 platform? I surely wouldn't expect support. Once again, sorry for my bone-headed postings earlier. I realized afterwards that I should have probably in fact started a separate thread outside of the FreeBSD beta thread.
Closed source. Some win-x86 optimization was done about a year ago using a debugger to decompile the code into assembly, but the person responsible was hired on as a consultant and his modificiations were incorperated into the main codebase, and he was asked not to post any more experimental applications, so I don't believe any user attempted port would be welcomed at this time (if even possible while working only with binaries)
Will there be a new version of the FreeBSD application for new work which is now being distributed?
Also, why isn't FreeBSD officially supported yet? I've been running it on one machine 24/7 since November with no problems whatsoever. The wizardry necessary to get it working manually might be putting off potential new users, or existing users with FreeBSD firepower.

You could always install it painlessly from the port. :)
