As an aside, did it ever cross your guys minds that part of the problem over there is the endless self-righteous, holier-than-thou discussion of what other people did and when? I mean all you've done here is move that discussion of others to a different forum. Would that some of them arrive here, do you think that this thread would remain as it is, or would it become just as one of the threads over there?
Actually it's been rather mild, this is the "Internal Displacement...Seti Asylum Seekers" thread. Mike will shut anything down that approaches Seti hate levels. I don't crunch Seti myself but I find this thread among others that have started since the Seti "blowout" refreshing compared to the same old repetitive project gripe, team, and 'belongs in the "Problems and Bug Reports"' threads.
Yesterday and today I have noticed things seems to be running along much more peaceably at our sister project...very encouraging indeed...I would hope that the refugees would now consider returning to post over there...As well as continuing to post here at Einstein...Even as things return to a good state at also hope that you'll do as i plan to do...By posting in both communities...

I think we're gonna get there Rush...Where the troubles that brought many of us over here will fade from discussion...This thread is where many of the new arrivals land first...So you're gonna see more of the "why i left"..."or this is so much better than that" kind of post...But if you look at the other active threads i think you'll find that most of them are headed in the kind of direction that i think you'd like to see...As for me...I don't have any problem with you...I don't always agree with you...But you argue well...and i think that's a good thing.

I thought I'd stroll in with a comment or two here. This is not a censure or rebuke of anyone at all, just commentary.
Please do ignore any untoward posts. That is excellent advice and disables totally alot of the motivation of many difficult posters - attention seeking behaviour. But, in addition, I will certainly do my best ( when I'm awake at least! ) to actually remove harmful content - that way no one has to even decide to ignore it. I guess someone is going to work it out that I'm at UTC + 10! :-)
With electronic communication it is always difficult to define intent as we lack the usual bandwidth of facial expressions, body language, tone etc. A wise posting policy, that removes such doubt, is to simply consider the impact of a negative comment from the other side ( ie. the reader ). Even the briefest of reflections on that often will do good, so one needn't fear any paralysis of communication. That can save a lot of future angst for all, including the poster ( about being misunderstood particularly ) and certainly isolates the position of any readers that attempt to 'make hay' from falsely taken offence, injured innocence, and all those other variants of martydom that are seen .... :-)
You can always be explicitly reassuring here too, like my comment 'This is not .....just commentary' as above, and the liberal use of smileys and such.

Please note I'm not getting any ego kick out of any of this. I just want a smooth board ( with robust but polite discussion ) to further the support of the science side of this project which is where my personal interest and greater focus lies! :-)
