OTOH I have some p/j wu's in my queue and thier estimated time isn't any longer than the standard large ones. I'm several days from actually running any of them though.
'Course with 6 there isn't a middle result as there is with 3. (shrug)
[rather irresponsible speculation]
Now with 6 you could shoot any high and/or low outliers, and at worst still be left with 4 for a final playoff. A double cut process. You might do that if you really, really wanted to be sure of something?
[/rather irresponsible speculation]
I ain't got any p's or j's yet .... :-(
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

That is just what we have been reporting--same estimated time, double actual time.
Same here: got a bunch of j2-WUs. One already finished with double CPU time.
While I really appreciate the longer WUs (taking off some pressure of the damn daily quota), I strongly suggest that the devs adjust the estimated operations for these WUs in order to claim proper credit with Trux' and to get the right cache size for hosts using the normal client (optimized hosts are fast enough anyway :D ).
Concerning the initial replication of 6: I don't like it, but until proven wrong I'll assume there's a good reason for this.
I've got pj's on my host. Sorry bad joke, but I couldn't resist.
It will be a day or so untill I get to the because of my cache.
There are 10^11 stars in the galaxy. That used to be a huge number. But it's only a hundred billion. It's less than the national deficit! We used to call them astronomical numbers. Now we should call them economical numbers. - Richard Feynman
I have run and got credit on 2p's and 2j's on 2 different hosts and they DO take twice as much time ...I think it is a special test of some sort that they need results back ASAP... have had much experience with this type of thing in LHC...the worse thing though is it totally screws Trux's calibrated client up.Consistently been claiming 35-38 credits with r and z... these units claimed about 60ish ..time to completion doubled and z and r are only claiming about 24-25 credits now and I guess are causing the calibration process to start all over again :(
in "old" type of WU was
max # of error = 20
total = 20
success results = 20
in new type of WU this parametrs was changed:
max # of error = 5
total = 10
success results = 20
I don't know how this parameters using in count number of "initial replication". I think that less "max # of errors" needs in more results for Validaition. And parameter "total" less in 2, 3*2=6...
This can be answer on more Invalid resalts if using Akosf optimization and beta version of app, or test now type of WU, or somthing else.
