RE: My first WU using

My first WU using U41.04 was in the same ballpark as the times my 2.4 Ghz P4 (Prescott) had been recording using S41.06 (and that is a big improvement relative to my brief experience w/U41.01).

Having completed 20+ WU's now, it looks like U41.04 takes 2 to 3% longer to process than S41.06 on my 2.4 Ghz P4 (Prescott). Therefore, I am going to switch back to the "S" series.

Message 30208 in response to message 30207

For my P4 2.4a ghz Prescott over the past week...

U41.04 2 results at 3800 seconds with 15% overclocking

S41.07 1 result at 4200 seconds without overclocking

U41.02 2 results at 3600-3800 seconds without overclocking

S40.x 3 results at 6000 seconds without overclocking

After finishing about 400-500

After finishing about 400-500 WUs on my AMD X2 using U41.04, I got 5 invalid results.

It seems, I'm the only one?

Interesting times: Dual Xeon

Interesting times:
Dual Xeon 3.4GHz with HT ... 4 logical processors ... 4 WU at the same time.
S39L ... 6799 s/WU
S41.06 ... 8067 s/WU
U40.04 ... 7859 s/WU
So S39L seems to be best for this kind of processor.

Akos, I don't like HT at all

Message 30212 in response to message 30211

Akos,
I don't like HT at all ;) that's why I have amd64 at home. But why not use such a HW like dual Xeon 3.4 if it's available ;) even when I can not switch HT off. I would like to do it, at least for testm but owner will kill me, I'm happy that he is agree with running it as it is.
But sure, HT is not very good for such a computing as Juraj Kotulic Bunta (my team mate) already wrote.
Just to be clear, original times on this host were around 25.000 seconds!!! So anyway it is 4 times faster now!!! Great job!!!

I'm using AndyKs script to check my PC. It's been running... several hundreds of U41.04s I think. Now it says I have 800WUs in the database and there's something wrong with 8 of them. I know that shortly before switching to U41.04 I did some alpha testing for other clients, which didn't work out too well, so at that point it showed 7 WUs with red status, with others possibly still waiting for a quorum.
-> bottom line: I can't say it for sure, but it's very probable that I have much less than 5 invalid results with U41.04 ;)

Using a P4 3.2 Prescott with

Using a P4 3.2 Prescott with HT enable here and S40.03 was returning results in ~6,200 secs. U41.04 is finishing in ~4,500 secs. I am running multiple projects on this machine so Einstein does not get to run two instances at the same time.

U41.04 is approximately 7.5%

U41.04 is approximately 7.5% faster than S41.07 on my p4 Prescott 3.4 GHz without HT.

Thanks for your promotion. ;-)
For everyone which has Java disabled (menu is in java), or don't understand german here is the direct link: http://www.andyk.de/boinc/pc.php

btw: Om my fathers computer (P4 3,2 HT) my times have decreased dramatically:
S40.12
7068
7302

S41.07HT
5238
5285
5187

Don't know If I should try the U41.04... but I think I will.
To shorten crunching times I use the trick in the truxoft_prefs.xml:
