I've installed it, and it appears to be working. I'm getting a error about "Local_opts.xml" being missing. Is that the file I'd use to claim more cores?

Normally, local_opts.xml is automaticaly created first time you launch boinc.exe (BoincStudio version). Did you ugrade also Boinc when you install BoincStudio ?

@TheirryH: Great job with

@TheirryH:

Great job with BoincStudio. I've just gotten it installed and working properly and I must say that even with a mostly French GUI it is a pleasure to work with. My computer now claims to have 2 CPUs so I can get 64 WUs a day. The credit calibration is a bit high, but it should get thrown out as the high claim in the quorum. One question I have though is what does the "mode secours" check-box enable?
Job well done, I look forward to an English version.

@DanNeely

I got the same "local_opts.xml" error you did the first time I ran BoincStudio, but it gets created at that moment and the next time you start the client the error won't appear.
You can also change the number of CPUs under the "projets" tab, next to the "correction des credits" check box there is a "CPUs" drop down window.

Oh yeah, two more questions,

Oh yeah, two more questions, what do "reclamer du travail" and "ajuster le travail" do? I guess me French isn't as good as I thought.

Backup mode. Projects in backup mode are not running if "main projects" are running. If main projects are down and CPUs are out of work, BoincStudio get work from backup projects one work unit by one until a main project is up.

"Reclamer du travail": get work. You can get one, two, three... days more of work.

"Ajuster le travail": adjust work. You can setup work unit cache to one, two, three... or default. It's a very interesting feature to setup cache machine per machine instead of using default, home, work or school values. Becareful, this option is working only on connected machines. If BoincStudio isn't connected, boinc.exe go back to home, work... values.

Ok. Something apparently

Ok. Something apparently went wrong with my shutdown, overwrite files, restart cycle. I'm not seeing any of the new french ui features described here even though boinc studio and a few french messages are placed in the log. I tried stopping it again to retry, but the copy running now doesn't have control of the albert apps to shut them down safely. I can endtask them into oblivion, but that would loose the workunits they're working on. IS there a safe way to do this instead? I won't be able to try anything until I'm home from work in ~10.5hrs

In params tab, you have to put the same password than you have in file gui_rpc_auth.cfg in the boinc directory. I suppose it's your trouble.

Rebember, BoincStudio is in Alpha version. We are only testing solutions. The 0.5 version will support multi-languages. We'll probably make ourself the English version, but we'll need help for others.

Good job, just keep going - the answers will come and so the suport to languages. We've got some Czech translataions for BOINC Manager, BOINCView so BOINCStudio may come next...and possibly substitute BOINCView.
Thanks for the job :-)

I, and probably others of our team can offer help to do a translation to German, but I guess we would need an English version to do so.

Am I downloading the right

Am I downloading the right file? I repeated the shutdown/copy files/restart process, but am not seeing any changes from the look of the standard client aside from a few startup messages. ie no params tab. Also, despite repeated restarts I don't have the local_opts.xml that was supposed to be autocreated.

http://boinc-studio.nikolai.be/download/BoincStudio.win32.0.4b.rar

I've tried running all three 3 executables in the file. boinc-restart flashes a console window but doesn't appear to do anything else. boinc.exe appears to be a console mode client. Except for the starting messages the only difference I see between boincmgr and the truxsoft client I was using previously is that I'm not claiming enhanced credit.
