I tested it on my AMD XP 2100+, but it errored out within 2 seconds:

Staying with crunch3rs opt. app. :-)

Ooops...
I will check it.

akosf, I'd love to try this. I have two questions:

1. if one is running the distributed SETI, is installing this done by the same trivial shut down/copy/restart method as for you Albert aps?
2. if one is running crunch3r's SETI ap, using the app_info.xml mechanism to point to it, does one just shut down/copy/restart placing your file over his of the same name, but leaving the .pdb and libraries alone?

Surely at least one of these two cases requires something a bit different.

I hate to slow you down with questions, but maybe we'll succeed if we install it right.

Thanks.

I forgot to enclose the app_info.xml! Probably this is AndyK's problem.
So, installation process:
1. stop BOINC
2. copy seti...exe and app_info.xml to the project directory
3. start BOINC

I tried out on two system half hour ago.
It works fine.

SETI K7-08 The app_info.xml is enclosed from now.

Not problem! You aren't alone.
I would like to test a modification for C40 (10-15 minutes work) but I do it from 6pm (now is 10pm), because I try to answer on some forums. :-)
Sorry, if I'm a bit slow. :)

Aksof, you are a genius.

I second that. If you could do similar work as you've done for E@h with other projects, combined BOINC TeraFLOPS will skyrocket :-)

Have you ever thought about offering your services to other projects, not that I don't appreciate all you have done for Einstein, but a 75% decrease in model crunch times at say CPDN like you have achieved here, now that would be a godly effort. :)
Well, I examined some project applications some months ago. But my favourite is Einstein@Home.

akosf, have you ever looked at Rosetta and SIMAP?

(I have a full list of humanitarian DC projects here)

No, sry, not the problem.
I have an app_info.xml pointing to the setiathome_4.11_windows_intelx86.exe

1. I stopped boinc
2. I made a backup of crunch3rs version, including the .pdb file.
3. I deleted crunch3rs files
4. I copied your version to the folder
5. I started boinc

Maybe I should have left the .pdb file in place?

Yes, I have, but just very shortly.
