akosf, first i must thank you for the optimized apps, my P3 1.2 ghz laptop is running on average 2hrs per WU now =)
Secondly , i noticed that with the optimized apps over on seti people had removed the screensaver as part of the optimizing process, is that possible with the einstein app? and do you think it would make any difference?

Wow! This screensaver is fantastic!!!
I have never seen it. Really nice!
Try to disable the screensaver if you want crunch faster. :-)

heh =) what i meant is that they actually removed the code for the screensaver in the optimized app over on seti (if you try to run the screensaver it just shows the boinc logo floating around) now i'm not sure if that was part of the optimization or just their personal preference, but if it was done for further optimization i was curious if that may have some beneficial effect if it was done with your optimized einstein app.
Edit: the only screensaver i ever run for a project nowadays is over on Pirates@Home =) (gets more credits that way heh)

Yes, I know it.

I didn't know it.

It's simple. If the screensaver doesn't occupy the resources then the computer does more work in same time.
Probably, they removed the screensaver to get a more readable sourcecode.
Thanks for the tip, but as I make it clear in the doc, I am focusing on humanitarian DC projects (e.g. finding cures for diseases etc). E.g. breaking the RC5 encryption algorithm or finding the zillionth-digit prime number is NOT humanitarian, at least according to my own definition :-)
Still, I plan to list all BOINC projects (not just humanitarian ones) with a short description and a link, as long as they have an English-language website and accept new users. So, if MUON1 were under BOINC, I'd list it.
If a project is non-BOINC and non-humanitarian, then I don't list it, but in the end of the doc in Links section, I give many links to generic lists of DC projects (Wikipedia, DMOZ, dc.info etc)
