I didn't think that this cache trick will improve the performance of these systems.
...and Dothan will catch up my Duron.
Should I turn on the afterburner? :-)
(This Duron went on 2,75GHz with my watercooler.)

You are old enough to stay dry, right? ;)
Better investigate on Linux, the growing distance is really frustrating, on the other hand I'm happy to "beat" these 4-cylinder Macs with your albert and my X2. :))

Work with overclocked system is too expensive!
The power consumption of my "RANCOR" is about 65-70W, but is over 120W on 2,75GHz!
I used four overclocked computers (amdXP1700) to crunch seti@home classic, and I got an electricity bill after one year. It was much higher than I calculated.
I sold three of them on next days...
Price of 1kWh electric power is about 0.15 EUR (0.18 USD) in Hungary.

Got the first results:
Athlon XP 2400+: -5.1%
Athlon X2 4400+: -5.8%
Again excellent work.
The X2 crunched a long WU in 47:43 min, that's realy close to the magig 45 min.
Please, someone give me more than 32WUs/day!!!

Michael
Dothan 1,86 GHz: 4434 -> 4124

Dothan 1,86 GHz: 4434 -> 4124 ~ -7%
Duron 2,03 GHz: 4230 -> 4095 ~ -3%
I'm a bit surprised. :-)

New result for this one:
XP 2400+ @2230 MHz: 4143 --> 3868 ~ -6.6 %
For the X2 there are no more comparable results:
X2 4400+ @2650 MHz: 3040 --> 2863 ~ -5.8 %
Interesting, but pretty close together.
Both CPUs have enough L1-Cache for S39, so the win must come from somewhere else. :)

House them at my place in Czech republic, I'm paying five eurocents for kWh. :)
