Is anybody here running Titan XP? How well does it run?

As Titan V is out of the question, after HotWheels mania my wife got for a kid. ????????

look up numbers from 1080Ti systems. it's basically the same.

Well not exactly, see here for more data: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/nvidia-gp102.g798

So 1080Ti w.11GB is mostly what X Pascal is, except X Pascal has 96 ROPs, compared to 1080Ti with 88.

But actually, we are talking about XP here, which has the most Shaders, most TMU & 96 ROPs. This interests me mostly, as - my Quadro RTX 4000 works on 50% 'cause of the cooling issues (yes, I do need to dust it off). But it is a single card, so this is it's limitation.

As I do run 2 systems at home, plan is to get Titan V for newer workstation. But older workstation Dell T5500 does not like some newer cards...so Titan XP might be a nice improvement from current 1060 that I run!

----

& yes Tom, they run about ~$200 on eBAY...so that is why they also interest me!

in spite of all that. it still performs about the same.

2-5% real world performance benefit.

looks like it's even slower overall than your 1080Ti host. but accounting for the difference in the CPU speed, they are actually about the same GPU speed. like I thought.

Titan Xp/1080Ti looks to be about half the speed of a Titan V that's well optimized. i run 2x tasks concurrently with roughly the same ~2700s runtimes.

I can't say if those were run one at a time or to at a time, I tried to run them two at a time but Einstein itself sometimes refused and only ran one at a time.

That’s the 1x speed on

That’s the 1x speed on 1080Ti. Corroborated with other hosts also running 1x like the 8x GPU systems from Gaurav.

if you have an app_config file in place, changes to the utilization factor on the website wont be effective

It looks like a Titan XP has

It looks like a Titan XP has the form factor of a Titan V. So you could install the equivalent of 4 rtx 1080 tis directly on a Epycd8 motherboard.

And I suppose I could nearly replicate one of those 8 GTX 1080 ti systems.

But that also would put me back into the too high electric bill that I must now avoid.

Anyway KLIK thank you for raising the issue.

dont think you'd be able to

dont think you'd be able to cool 4x 1080Ti/Titan Xp like that.

you could do it with the Titan V because it uses a lot less power. but the 1080Ti/Titan Xp will pull like 200+ W

Back to Titan V efficiency.
