You could probably omit the -i flag and [num] parameter and it will apply the same value to all cards. Works that way for power limiting.
I can't get it to work, with or without the-i flag and [num] parameter. I have one of the 4 GPUs running 76-78c and it won't get down to 70c.
sudo nvidia-smi -i 0 -gtt 70

try running it again and capture the output? just copy and paste what it said when you run the command in the terminal.
i wonder if 70c is too low? outside the range i mean. power limit for example has a valid range and it wont let you set values outside that are too low or too high.
I would also assume that the way this command works to reduce temps is to just reduce the clock speed until temps come to the value you've set. do you see that the clock speeds have been reduced?
naw you can use

naw you can use Nvidia-Server-Settings app for most of it.

True, remnant from dual card days. Also removed from:

Time to re-paste your GPU? Or is there some other reason why, such as restricted air flow?

are you saying that the command wont run? (ie, you get some error).
or that the command runs, but nothing happens?

Think it said, All done, when issuing the command, no errors. Is there a way to check if the 70c command is working?
re. repasteing the GPU, don't know how to, dont wont to even try :)

You can use nvidia-smi to verify that the target temp you are setting is within range.

Can I run these headless as is, or do I need to run spoof plugs? I don't know the correct term for it.
This is all for remote access to save electricity and space. Mostly space. My tables are full.
