Is there something wrong with my app_config?

"Your app_config.xml file refers to an unknown application 'einstein_O3AS'. Known applications: 'einsteinbinary_BRP7'"

I copied it from my other pc's but this pc (9980XE) will not download O3AS work. It's not a profile issue either. I checked that.

<app_config>
 <app>
  <name>einsteinbinary_BRP7</name>
  <gpu_versions>
    <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage>
    <cpu_usage>1.0</cpu_usage>
  </gpu_versions>
</app>
 <app>
  <name>einstein_O3AS</name>
  <gpu_versions>
    <gpu_usage>0.33</gpu_usage>
    <cpu_usage>1.0</cpu_usage>
  </gpu_versions>
</app>
 </app_config>

No.

All available primary tasks have been sent out (they finished about 12 hours ago) and Bernd has stated that he's attempting to create more at the moment.  Check the latest comment from him in the O3AS thread in Tech News.

My guess is there won't be any until sometime Monday, Hannover time (late Monday evening in Brisbane), if he manages to solve potential issues that he alludes to in his comment.

EDIT:

Looks like Bernd has gotten the next series of tasks ready very quickly.  I did check before I started the above reply (and there were none) but I just checked my hosts now and I see them starting to download large amounts of new data files and tasks.  Looks like we're back in business.  If you have the search properly selected, you should now be getting some as well.  When that happens, the O3AS search will no longer be 'unknown'.

EDIT_2:

I took a break for a late dinner and then went back to see how all the downloads were going.  In scanning the event logs of a couple of machines, there were deletion messages for huge numbers of old data files, quite a few new tasks together with messages for downloading the new data files.

There were lots of "starting download" lines but only a few examples of downloads completing.  The tasks lists showed all the new tasks as "download failed" on both machines I looked at.  Whilst they were still crunching the remaining 'old series' tasks, both hosts had 24 hour back-offs, I imagine because of all the new 'download failed' tasks.  Looks like there may be problems getting the new data ready for download.

I have enough old series tasks to last through the night and these are still running.  I'm retiring for the night and will look again in the morning to see if anything got sorted out before the weekend.

Cheers,
Gary.

one of my hosts has so far had about 50 download failures, starting at 11:56 UTC May 31 and continuing through 12:19.  I've blocked new work for the moment--I suppose something needs to get sorted out.

I am surprised you can even get 2x on a 4GB card. My experience is that the app uses slightly more than 2GB, and if I try to run 4x on my 8GB cards, I hit computation errors.

I would like to see less VRAM usage as well in the next app, maybe it isn't worth doing for the current one since its time is limited I think.

Maybe it depends on the platform (AMD/NV OpenCL/CUDA?)
But I have been running 2 GW tasks on my AMD (so OpenCL) RX 570 4 GB cards for many months (Actually, since the update of the application, when memory usage was reduced by ~ 2 times) without any problems. According to my observations, the VRAM usage is "only" 3.4-3.7 GB for two tasks running in parallel.
And its runs just fine IF work as dedicated cruncher. Eg user do not use desktop/browser etc which use additional VRAM and cause signiticant slowdowsn as VRAM usage pushed close to limit. But even in this case, there are no errors, just a strong slowdown due to the fact that active "swapping" begins from the GPU's local memory to the main system memory and back.
One of the latest tasks for example (two different hosts but with same RX570 4 GB GPUs running x2 GW WUs):

 peak VRAM usage: 1680.6 MB on GPU Device: 'Ellesmere ( Platform: AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing )' with backend: 'OpenCL'.

 peak VRAM usage: 1681.0 MB on GPU Device: 'Ellesmere ( Platform: AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing )' with backend: 'OpenCL'.

Just a quick question.   Can

Just a quick question.   Can I use an Intel CPU/GPU to run 03AS work units?  Keeps saying no work is available.

If you look at the Server Status page (link is on the bottom right of most web pages in Einstein) you'll see more than 5,000 "Tasks to send" for O3AS.

You need to verify your settings.  Also check your Intel CPU/GPU settings.  Is it in a laptop with no discreet GPU, only the integrated GPU?  There might not be any tasks made for your Intel CPU/GPU.

Also, next time please don't highlight your entire message in BOLD, just select the important words to highlight.
