There is an annual Oyster Festival coming up in my area on the weekend of the 20th of October, it's a big flea market with lots of food trucks, lots of vendors selling stuff, a stage where bands rotate thru, a beer section where you can pay $5 and drink all the beer you want too with some of it being local brewers and some being the standard bigger companies...you can't leave the area with your beer though. And of course LOTS and LOTS of Oyster related things like shucking contests, eating contests and cooking contests. A few years ago some guy was selling Megladon shark teeth for as little as $10 each, I bought 2 of them. Mine were in a box with half a dozen others and weren't the best quality but they are as big as my hand is!!

I see 'dado' and 'skirting' as decorative elements in architecture and interior design. When I think of skirting, I also think of a room with a stucco ceiling, i.e. horizontal (don't know the term) strips? on the ceiling, and also external facades with horizontal ledges between floors, and there the mascarons, common in Art Nouveau. Hmm, I needed a dictionary for this explanation now, as I realized that it's a bit of a leap from skirting to mascarot. Sorry.
