Ha, speaking of racing...

steer > under > slip

Slip angle relates to under steering in car mechanics.

But, a silk under slip is an entirely different thing.

So are you a racer or a watcher of it? I've watched F1 for YEARS now, I used to love the McLaren and Ferrari battles many years ago.

No, not really.  But years ago I picked up "Sports Car and Competition Driving" by Paul Frere, 1966 edition, at a book sale. A fascinating read on theory and practice. Chapter 4 is "From Slipping to Sliding", where I first learned of slip angle, understeer, oversteer, neutral-steer, yaw angle, and drifting.

Sounds like a very good book!!

"Bergschrund" is a German

"Bergschrund" is a German word. I had to google it first; never heard it before. Seems there's a special vocabulary in the mountainous regions... or the word has become extinct where I live. Interesting.

I am one of these people we call "Flachlandtiroler" (Lowland's Tyrolean*) in German, that is: unable to move around in mountainous regions adapted to weather and terrain. In short: Tourist.

* from the Austrian/Italian region "Tyrol" in the Alps mountains, where there are no lowlands.

and someone added Duck and

and someone added Duck and Quack so I added Echo because there was a controversy about whether a ducks quack really echoed, it does but it's the speed of the quack and it's echo that makes it seem like there isn't an echo.
