The 64 tasks require a 64core cpu while the 128 tasks require a 128 core cpu, yes you can get thru HT but if you only have a 16core cpu, even thru HT you can't get any of the 32, 64 or 128 tasks.

I have 12 cores 24 threads, and I get 16t tasks, so it must be threads not cores they care about.  Hence the t.

Yafu doesn't want a billion people running it as they are still growing and don't have the hardware to support alot of new users so they have asked to NOT be on the list. A few other projects are the same way and when they do get alot of new users their hardware often fails because of it.

They should get donations and get a bigger server.  Primegrid runs on donations.

No, if you view the original YT video announcement of the product, the baseline was set with a 280mm AIO and runs at 90℃.

A 28C reduction is not impressive, all water coolers do that, without the delidding crap.

Then the cpu is delidded and the new fabricated lid is installed on top of the dies.  The new IHS is much more robust than the stock one and protects the dies.

Unless you break it while doing so.

No, AIO's don't magically

No, AIO's don't magically drop your cpu 28℃ from an air-cooled solution.

On this daily driver 5950X I am currently running 82℃ with a 360mm radiator in push-pull in a custom loop. Would be worse with a generic AIO.

Der8auer provides well-engineered delidding tools to safely delid both Intel and AMD cpus without damaging the dies.

On my 7950X with a 360mm custom loop I am running right at the 95℃ intended operating temperature.  Der8auer's system would be a welcome addition to that system.

I am not quite sure what a connector less design means but the price on Am5 socket motherboards keeps coming down.

That board isn't connector less.  They haven't invented anything that can do that yet.  The board just moved all the standard connectors to the backside of the board.

All in a vain attempt to hide "unsightly" cables.

Yes they do, I used to use a Corsair something (H120?) leading to the standard issue long radiator with two 120mm fans on it.  I'd get 55C instead of something in the 80s.

I can have a wireless phone, keyboard, mouse, laptop, why not other things inside the case?

As for unsightly, pah!  They're inside the case!!  Already hidden!

The only reason to "hide" cables is to keep them out of the way of fan blades.  It's monumentally stupid the way all fans on CPU coolers and GPUs are exposed!  Up to 5K rpm flimsy plastic blades, and cables everywhere.  Oops, one got touched, blade snaps off.  The obvious solution is a grid covering them!  Like case fans to keep fingers out!  But no, that would make far too much sense.  I buy finger guards and strap them on with cable ties.  It's the only way to be sure no wires will ever get jammed in there.  The wires are hidden inside the case, they can move, especially if you transport the computer.

Do you have a picture of a "finger guard"? Do you mean these things?

Yes, I have a box of 1000, since I used to use them often when building custom gaming PCs for a living.

This is a crazy idea:

intelfan2.jpg

See that orange wire along the top?  It falls one inch and the CPU fan blades are toast.

I covered every fan in the computer.  Both the CPU and case fan in that photo would have had a guard fitted.  Cable ties can strap one to the arms supporting the CPU fan motor.  Then the screw holders on the guard can be used to hold cables out of the way.

I would use zip ties, which are the same as wire ties I think, to keep that orange wire from falling down, several if needed. I buy them by the 100 or even 1000 if they are cheap enough and keep the spares in a drawer then keep the ones I use alot near my workbench in round plastic containers along with a wire cutter to snip the ends off. The other day I had to replace 2 fans that were not spinning right and found out I had pulled the zip tie too ight and couldn't get the end of the fan connector thru the zip tie so after running the new wires I made sure the ends fit thru the zip tie so next time I didn't have to replace them, but the wires are still up away from any fan blades. In some of my cases I have rear, top, front and of course cpu fans all to run wires around so they get more zip ties than other pc's that have fewer fans. I am slowly replacing the pc's without top fans so they breathe better.
