that's my hunch. but I'm not 100% positive. it's also possible that some settings on the application aren't ideal for the new architecture. I wouldnt know where to start though to tweak it.
you're using ~300W. which is still a decent amount of power for a GPU. I run my 3080Ti's at 300W limited. but your 4090 should be a little faster at the same power level. and still much faster than the stock app.
just watch the validation rate. i've noticed some high invalid rates on these 40-series cards from other users. again, not sure why.

Absolutely faster than the stock app- really impressive! I will watch the validation rate- I am only running these tasks for an hour or so today then the system will be off over the weekend.
A huge "thank you" for your help over the last few days to get this up and running!
After you run 3x for a while divide the wall clock time listed by 3. If the resulting number is still less than the time taken for 1x then 3 produces more production than 1x.
Sometimes the # you get after 2x and 3x (after dividing by two and three) is nearly the same number. Then it doesn't matter if you use 2x or 3x.

Will do. Initially, it looked like running two at a time was slightly faster but I am going to look more into it on Tuesday when we are back at school. I will probably fill my cache then let them run for the school day and switch from 2 to 3 sometime halfway through the day if I have time. I have to get the second system up and running as well but I would love to get Clear Linux working on it.
Well, since there is another 8 or so months of FGRPB1G left, it would be nice if there was a Windows version of this special app someone could compile. Or better yet if the Devs implemented it into the stock app.
I mean, there should be a level playing field for all by allowing everyone the ability to run it no matter the operating system.
Petri is the developer that has modified the stock app with some optimizations. He only works in Linux. No one else has his source code. but he has said that he doesn’t plan to do any more work on this app, he’s moved onto other things.
as an aside, when he developed a much more optimized app for SETI, several people did attempt to port it to Windows, but no one was successful and they gave up. Some of the methods being used weren’t supported by the windows drivers from what I recall.
If you want to use it, switch to Linux and follow the directions in the first post.

You can install a second operating system (Linux) on your PC and run it- dual boot your PC.
And making a new app is much easier said than done.

Switching to Linux on my machines is not possible as they are used for other things daily that run on Windows.
Just sucks a bit that some can get the advantage that others are not able to.

There’s always virtual machines, Wine, Linux alternatives, etc.

Quick update on the 4090
)
Quick update on the 4090 GPUs. Keep in mind, I am only running these systems during business hours right now.
System 1:
Pending (374)
Valid (1201)
Invalid (139)
Error (0)
System 2:
Pending (352)
Valid (1030)
Invalid (110)
Error (0)
As suggested earlier, a good amount of invalids but not unacceptable (~10%). Running 2x work units on each.
