Was running the normal app.

Was running the normal app. Then I made the modifications (added the 5 kernels and EAH-SLEEP, then app_info and the new application to the project folder.

Same error- it accessed the 405 file just fine running vanilla.

Now:

hmm. I'm kind of at a loss now. I can't explain why it's not working. maybe something different in how your system's directories are structured? I can only speculate.

how did you install BOINC? did you use the gianfranco PPA? or some other install?

I am thinking the same thing-

I am thinking the same thing- I am depleting WCG tasks right now and then am going to completely remove BOINC and all directories. I might have more luck. I did have some trouble getting BOINC working originally, so I want to start from scratch.

Is there a specific install you would recommend?

try our standalone

try our standalone "all-in-one" install. you don't really need to "install" BOINC at all, and it's all contained in it's own folder wherever you want to put it. I just put it in the home directory. other users like to put it on their desktop.

just make sure you run the 'boinc' and 'boincmgr' executables on ldd like you did before to check for missing dependencies. if anything says missing or not found post the output here and I can probably figure out which package you need to install.

download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CIUzw1wEfdRRedwwLhRPyTVj6XJ4njJG/view?usp=share_link

this is what I use. i pre-packaged the special einstein app in it so all you should need to do after satisfying dependencies is double click on the 'boincmgr' file to open BOINC Manager, which will kick off the boinc client in the background and attach to it. then you can attach your projects. only attach einstein first to test if it's working.

it should work for you. just extract the archive (unzip it) and put the BOINC folder wherever you like on your desktop or home folder. download the archive directly to the system, or move the archive compressed. only unzip it on the target system (you will mess up permissions if you move the extracted archive across drives).

Either the Lunatics BOINC AIO

Either the Lunatics BOINC AIO or the Gianfranco PPA.

Use Ian's package of the BOINC AIO or

Gianfranco Costamagna BOINC PPA

oh one more thing. if you

oh one more thing. if you decide to use my standalone BOINC, it does not create any kind of system service or autorun on boot like the repository version do. you will need to manually launch it every time you reboot the system.

do this:

wget http://nz2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/o/openssl/libssl1.1_1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.17_amd64.deb

then

sudo dpkg -i libssl1.1_1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.17_amd64.deb

that should install your missing package.

Must be running a version of

Must be running a version of 22.04 which deprecated the OpenSSL 1.1 branch and upgraded to the OpenSSL 3.0 branch.

You can install the older OpenSSL 1.1 package alongside the OpenSSL 3.0 library and the dependencies will be solved.

You can download it here. libssl1.1_1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.16_amd64.deb

You install it with:

sudo dpkg -i libssl1.1_1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.16_amd64.deb
